New Russia?

Thanks for the link Joe!

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday publicly addressed pro-Russian rebels fighting in southeastern Ukraine for the first time , praising their "major success" inside Ukraine.
The Kremlin released a late-night statement from Putin on its website in which he appealed to the militia of "Novorossyia," or "New Russia."
It's a term he has used before to describe the regions in eastern Ukraine where fighting has raged for months — a term that describes the area north of the Black Sea that was conquered by Russia in the late 18th century through peace treaties with the Cossack Hetmanate and the Ottoman Empire. In 1922, the area became part of the Soviet Union. The term is mostly used now by Russian nationalists who wish for Russia to reconquer the area.

" It is clear the militia has achieved a major success in intercepting Kiev’s military operation, which represents a grave danger to the population of Donbass and which has already led to the loss of many lives among peaceful residents," Putin said in his statement to the militia.
Uh wow.

I really don't know what to say about this one.  Follow the link and read the whole story.  The EU, NATO, the US and Europe in general has just been put on notice.  Forget my earlier posting....SHIT JUST GOT REAL!

Putin is playing for blood.

regarding the map, nothing new really, the ones in proximity are "mentally" prepared for it, since sometimes was even worse...

BUT, i still wonder, what does it take for some of the western powers (U.S especially, let's be honest, that's basically NATO...) to explain to the rejects in charge of my country's (Romania) defense budget that a rusia in the brink of collapse can "get lost" in some countries liiiiiiiiiike, Republic of Moldova? what then? silence? all out war? support? tomahawks? long range AA?

nobody learned from history...or they simply don't give a shit

    or Yalta all over again?

  2. Actually Obama has a message for Putin: http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-to-putin-ukraine-baltic-states-nato-2014-8

His message is to stay away from the Baltics. What a weak handed defensive move. He just moved the line of focus backwards in retreat. Looks like Russia already has Ukraine as far he cares.

  3. Forget NATO ,European armies have been downsizing big time for some time now for example Germany went form having something like 2200 Leopard II MBTs to about 250 ,UK will soon have less armor than US marine corps, same goes for the rest of Europe 20 years even smaller European countries had MBTs in three digit numbers now i would be suprised if there are 2000MBTs operational in EU as a total (used to be close to 16.000 in the 80's).
Its even worse in terms of airplanes Germany only fileds 8 fully operationals Europighters of its 109 , Of the 67 CH53 only 7 are operational, 5 of 33 NH90 , 21 of 56 C-160 transalls and the list goes on that is why ruski gear rocks when needed its operational with much less maintenance. http://www.krone.at/Welt/Deutsche_Eurofighter_Nur_acht_von_109_fliegen-Chaos_bei_Bundeswehr-Story-417006

Think ukies lost about 200 tanks to the DNR so 200 tanks are small number for any conflict.

The east European hotheads (balts and Poland) should take it down a notch with their hysteria.Nato will not do anything just ratlle around a bit plus who cares, Russians have no intentions to getting involved anywhere else . So i would be more vary of the hawks in Eastern Europe and the Russians.

Ukraine went of the rails due to fu*ked up EU policy and some inept US medlling on Russias back yard .

  4. Sounds like pure propaganda to me. Still haven't seen any hard proof that Russia is actually invading, at least at any level higher than they have been for months now.
