  1. Back when the son was going into Geiger for Infantry training prior to Memphis we took him to camp.
O got to visit CLNC and Jacksonville for the first time in years, we played on the old AmTrac at the Second Marine Division Association HQ and I was amazed at the simplicity of the vehicle.
Compared to the LVTP- 5 and 7's it was about as sophisticated as an amphibious John Deere tractor, hence it's name.
Perhaps a return to simpler vehicles is needed if they are not going for High Tech solutions.
I notice the picture above of that New and Improved light Jeep type vehicle is almost a mirror image of the old Mighty Mite Jeeps of old.

    1. you're spot on . there is no reason for military vehicles to be as complicated as automobiles today. rugged, simplicity is what we should be going for but the generals want whiz bang high tech instead. makes me wonder if they ever spent anytime in the field.

  2. The Russians also seem to be utilizing older vehicles in their amphib capabilities.
