The current tariffs are putting a serious hurt on the Chinese economy but I might have underestimated their determination to continue their defense modernization.
I assumed that they would turn toward more civic projects to make up for the pain but defense is obviously an important industry so they're full speed ahead.
Get out of your normalcy bias. The Chinese are closing the gap.
