Saab Giraffe G1X Radar...a must have for the MAGTF?

Thanks to Nicholas Drummond for the tip!

First.  I'm just getting into the "Twitter" thing and unlike many communities on that platform, the military blogging community is using it in ways that should impress everyone.  Drop the porn, and tune in to the retweets and conversations going on over there.  If you have a few minutes take some time to browse some of your favorites.  I think you'll be as surprised and fascinated as I've been.

Second.  Chasing down some rumors on the JLTV (again Nicholas tossed me a bone).  Something is going on over there and I've got to find out what gives. Serious hint?  Do you remember how aggressive they once were with the fielding schedule?  That seems to have gone away.  Don't get me wrong.  The program continues but the priority seems to have been lowered.  More to come on that front.

Last.  I'm a Saab fan boy.  I'm digging BAE, ST Kinetics, General Dynamics and many others too.  But when it comes to MOBILE radars I think Saab has cracked the code and this GaN Giraffe G1X seems like a must have for the MAGTF.  Especially our MEU's.

Anti-Air is a huge capability gap for our ground forces and this could help us close it.  First up are mobile radars that can detect the threat.  Then we need to turn to missiles.  We'll go over what's on the market that fits the bill soon. Teaser?  I'm liking a European setup that the Brits are going with!
