Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commando (NORCRCDO) @ Trident Juncture...are they what our Riverines should be?

Operators from the πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄ Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commando (NORCRCDO) performed a force protection mission for a πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ U.S. cargo vessel as part of exercise #TridentJuncture 18. The coastal rangers use fast, small vessels for troop insertion and operations along the long Norwegian coast.

Interesting.

This is the job of Riverines in the US Navy but the Norwegians use a SWCC type force to do the same job...Don't get me wrong.  These Coastal Rangers are Special Ops but they also do the "non" glamorous work too.

Even more interesting?

Riverines were moving hard to build that rep and began working with units like this but took a serious gut punch when they were captured without a shot fired by the Iranians.

I can name a few units that I believe should do a hard reset but would be hard pressed to find one more deserving of that than the US Navy Riverines.

They would be well served to embed a few leaders with the Norwegians, come back with lessons learned and tear it all down to rebuild it better.
