Hmm. These pics remind me of something. Forgot who it was, but we had one bubba on these pages constantly pushing the German Army Wiesel for air assault/vertical envelopment in the US Army and Marine Corps.
No one in either service has even sniffed at the possibility.
Wonder why?
I can think of no other vehicle in service anywhere that is air transportable inside the CH-53 or CH-47 with the same firepower or mobility.
Perhaps protection still has weight in the iron triangle?
