Italian Army signs contract to buy 30 “Freccia” 8x8 Medium Armoured Vehicles.

Is the VBM in service with any other nation?  Seems like a winner but for some reason its just not catching on.  Anyone know how it measures up to other vehicles in its class?

As a side note I see that they're still running it with a 25mm cannon.  Wonder why they aren't upgunning to at least a 30mm or bigger?
