#OnThisDay 1879 a @RoyalNavy rating became the first casualty of the Anglo-Zulu war. The sailor was part of the Naval Brigade from HM Ships ACTIVE, TENEDOS & SHAH and fell in to the River Tugela whilst crossing, he was then eaten by a crocodile. pic.twitter.com/VpDdZDDTy1
