This goes beyond looking good on paper. The USMC is flipping itself to a bullshit coastal defense force, in essence killing itself because of a misguided Commandant and that doesn't tell the tale? The Chinese own the Pacific. Our leadership fucked it up and the Navy/Air Force are behind a power curve they can't get out of. Competition phase? More bullshit. They're holding on by their teeth. The death of the Marine Corps just confirms this fact.
