Starting to see this all over Twitter. The reports of F-35s flying over Venezuela are coming from that govt and also a few sites on X. Don't know if any of it is true but what I find interesting is that an MEU can seize a port/airfield and hold it for a bit but its suppose to be to allow follow on forces to flow in. I haven't seen any indication that any other US unit (Army or Marines is prepping for deployment). You could air drop/ship the 82nd into a port or an airfield...even a bunch of Special Ops units if you want to be flashy, though I'm sure they'd prefer covert insertion, but getting anything other than light infantry will be problematic.πΊπΈ For the first time, American fighter jets have violated Venezuelan airspace — and Trump has announced that the United States is entering into an armed conflict with drug cartels

The window for a lightning strike to snatch the president seem to be over so you're gonna need at least a LITTLE armor to push into the capital.
Whoever is planning this is either a wizard, about to introduce some type of new warfare or this is lining up to be a long slog if the reports are true.
