I see this so much its sickening. I wonder about the mentality behind this. Just weird. The terrible thing is that our (the US) economy is built on this type thinking. Memes are even built around it.

If America ever had a sudden realization across the board I wonder how that would affect things?

I mean even our "poor" wear expensive clothing and jewelry. 

Everyone talks about a revolution but if everyone "devolved" into living within our means I think the fat cats on Wall Street and even in the Government would shit bricks.
