This is puzzling to me. The Germans are buying and fielding the LUCHS 2 while also buying and participating in the CAVS program. The issue? They're both 6x6's of about the same size and capability, have about the same carry ability (according to what I've seen) and while I can't tell the cost breakdown for them I would think they cost about the same. While the LUCHS 2 is aimed at the recon mission (and they've gone with a 25mm cannon...explain that one!) the CAVS is gonna will be more general purpose with it going toward engineers, mortar carrier and RECON too. Is this just a buy Europe thing or something else.
