What do the Russian have that the 11th Airborne & MAYBE the USMC doesn't? Logistics vehicles that can handle the Arctic and Sub-Arctic.

Its everywhere so I've been forced to follow it. The Arctic seems to be the new "hotspot" for super power competition. With that being said Russian capabilities are the measuring stick and while I'm sure the Chinese are working on solutions they don't appear on the net...at least not yet. Having said all that while we have a dedicated unit to fight in that region (11th Airborne and maybe the Marine Corps along with possibly the 10th Mountain), we're getting weakly armed icebreakers and we have an airwing to provide assistance stationed alongside the Army unit.

We DO NOT have dedicated transport and more importantly dedicated logistics vehicles to support any forces sent there. Yeah I know. Resupply will be by aircraft. Helicopters and fixed wing cargo planes. But weather! Weather is a beast in the far north.

In my mind we need ground based logistics support that can travel at night, bad weather etc... The Russians have it. We don't.
