Battalion Landing Team 1/8 | Amphibious Raid

Ok. This is gonna sound crazy as hell but hear me out. Amphibious raids are a staple of Marine Corps ops. So is heliborne raids. In this day and age would it make sense to have a reinforced company of Marine Airborne to square this circle? If too expensive then should we attempt to integrate (as needed and as available - hopefully alot in testing and training) an airborne company from the 82nd/11th or 101st (I believe the 101 has a company of airborne qualified Soldiers). I think back to the Russian assault on the airport. Elite units led it BUT it was all heliborne. The slow speed of the helicopters (along with warnings from US intel agencies) gave the Ukrainians time to gather forces to repel the assault. In the Marine Corps while an amphibious raid can presumably deliver a harder punch (especially when the ACV-30 comes online), its slow...add in the missile threat and you're trying to do instream launches of ACVs from LCACs (if that's even possible). The Russian experience explains the heliborne issue. But couple some "Para" Marines (or a company from Army Airborne) deployed from MV-22s, escorted by F-35s then I think you MIGHT have the right mix to do the deed with your heliborne or amphibious assault units reinforcing or extracting those Marines/Soldiers from the drama. While raids are supposed to be short duration missions I think the Russian experience indicates that is probably no longer the case. Just my thinking. Feel free to shoot holes in it.
