Disease killed Napoleon's march on Russia, not winter???

Note. I am 100% into ancient battles now. I found a movie on the Tettenburg Forest Massacre that I'm gonna watch this weekend and now this showed up in my feed. Why didn't anyone tell me I was missing out. Escpecially on the Bronze age stuff (my favorite so far).

 

Everyone says winter killed Napoleon in Russia. The numbers say otherwise.

He crossed the Niemen on June 24, 1812 with around 450,000 men in the main force. He walked into Moscow on September 14 with about 100,000. That is three quarters of an army gone before a single snowflake… pic.twitter.com/faTCAzrTPQ
