Everyone is watching the GPU race, but another part of the AI infrastructure is becoming increasingly difficult to secure: memory. Elon Musk reportedly described the current memory supply shock as unlike anything he has seen in his lifetime. There is a reason this matters. Micron reported an 87% gross margin in fiscal Q4 2026, reflecting extraordinary pricing power in a market facing tight supply. AI models need more than computing power. They need enormous amounts of high bandwidth memory to process data efficiently. You can have thousands of powerful GPUs, but without enough memory, scaling AI becomes much harder. The next major AI infrastructure bottleneck may not be computing power. It may be memory.

The GPU race is nothing. Wait till you see the "memory" race!
