Thanks to SAVAGE TACTICAL Instagram Page I discovered your Friday Workout Music.  I been coasting for a minute.  Diet sloppy.  Workout sloppy.  On serious cruise control.

That shit is over.  Time to dial this shit back up to fucking 105 and keep pressing the gas.

If this music ain't for you then cool.  I like a variety and this hits all the right buttons...time to smash, bash, create chaos, scare the evil, and eviscerate my enemies.

A new light tank?  Can the Marine Corps have a few?  Maybe a couple of companies for float and the M1A1 for high intensity combat?

Angela Merkel admits that 'no-go zones' exist in Germany

via Fox News.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a major concession to Europe's populist movement this week when she admitted the existence of so-called “no-go zones” in Germany.

Conservatives and populists have long warned of the existence of such zones as the partial consequence of mass Muslim migration from the Middle East and Africa, particularly after Merkel opened Germany’s borders in 2015 as a response to the Syrian refugee crisis. Such areas are said to be dogged by high-levels of crime and are described as "no-go zones" because outsiders, including police and other authorities, are unable to enter.
Story here.

Amazing.

This wouldn't have been a story if she had told the truth from the start.  No go zones are nothing new.  At least in the states it's well known that you don't go to certain places at certain times.  Some of those places you NEVER go at anytime.

Germany WAS different though.

Pity.

That was a crazy beautiful and modern country when I went there...but that's been many years ago.

Obviously things have changed.

S. Korean troops to the UAE if they become involved in a conflict?

Thanks to LRD for the link!

via Korea Times.
A former defense minister has admitted that South Korea reached a secret deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2009 to send troops to the Middle Eastern country if it became engaged in a military conflict.

In an interview published Tuesday, Kim Tae-young, who served as defense minister under the Lee Myung-bak administration, said he decided to keep the deal a secret due to a possible backlash here.

The revelation is causing a stir, as officials of the Lee government have claimed there were no secret deals with the UAE linked to a nuclear plant project there. The suspicions regarding secret deals have triggered rumors about former administrations and the nuclear project, which emerged after presidential chief of staff Im Jong-seok visited the country in December.

Kim said the two countries agreed in 2009 that Korean troops would automatically intervene if the UAE became involved in a military conflict.
Story here.

Surprising on a number of levels.  Didn't think the S. Koreans would deploy for hostilities so far away.  Next I wonder if the US was aware of this deal.  Last, I'm no bible thumper but supposedly some believe that there is gonna be a big ass war in the Middle East involving all the world's nations.

This would kinda explain how the S. Koreans get invited to that party (assuming you believe that kind of thing).

But overall.

I bet the public would be amazed and SHOCKED to know how many deal/treaties etc...just like this one, have been made.

An awesome brother to his sister...

Kinzhal (Dagger) just made the carrier obsolete?

Thanks to Christopher for the link!

via Smoothiex
The missile is... well, for the lack of better word, is stunning--it is M=10+ highly maneuverable missile with the range of 2000 kilometers. The naval warfare as we know it is over. Without any overly-dramatic emphasis--we are officially in new era. No, I repeat, NO, modern or perspective air-defense system deployed today by any NATO fleet can intercept even a single missile with such characteristics. The salvo of 5-6 of such missiles is a guaranteed destruction of any Carrier Battle Group.

The mode of use of such weapon, especially since we know now that it is deployed (for now) in Southern Military District is very simple--the most likely missile drop spot by MiG-31s will be international waters of the Black Sea, thus closing off whole Eastern Mediterranean to any surface ship or group of ships. It also creates a massive no-go zone in the Pacific, where MiG-31s from Yelizovo will be able to patrol vast distances over the ocean. It is, though, remarkable that the current platform for Kinzhal is MiG-31--arguably the best interceptor in the history. Obviously, MiG-31's ability to reach very high supersonic speeds (in excess of M=3) is a key factor in the launch. But no matter what are the procedures for the launch of this terrifying weapon, the conclusions are simple:

1. It moves aircraft carriers into the niche of pure power projection against weak and defenseless adversaries;
2. It makes classic CBGs as main strike force against peer completely obsolete and useless, it also makes any surface combat ship defenseless regardless its air-defense capabilities.
3. Sea Control and Sea Denial change their nature and merge. Those who have such weapon, or weapons, simply own vast spaces of the sea limited by the ranges of Kinzhal and its carriers.

I don't want to sound dramatic and I knew that there were and are always surprises in Soviet/Russian weapons but today's revelations from the highest podium in Russia about Kinzhal were shocking. The balance of power just shifted dramatically, with it the naval warfare as we knew it is no more. It is OVER!

I NEED MUCH MORE INFO BEFORE I COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pentagon is trying to figure out the true cost the F-35

via CNBC
"To better inform our target glide path, I want to know what it truly costs to produce the aircraft," said Navy Vice Admiral Mat Winter, program executive officer for the Pentagon's F-35 joint program office.

"The number of quality escapes and what we call production line defects needs to get better," Winter told reporters during a roundtable Wednesday.

--------------------------------

"The price is coming down, but it's not coming down fast enough," said Winter, saying he believes Lockheed Martin is negotiating in good faith — but with a caveat.

"I will tell you that I am not as satisfied with the collaboration and cooperation by Lockheed Martin," he added. "They could be much more cooperative and collaborative, and we could seal this deal faster; we could. They choose not to, and that's a negotiating tactic."

As it stands now, the unit price for an F-35A — including aircraft, engine and fees — is $94.3 million.

"We are targeting a reduction from that for lot 11 and for obviously lot 12, 13 as we go forward," Winter said.
Winter added that the projected sustainment costs on the F-35 are poised to become unaffordable as the fleet grows from 280 aircraft to 800-plus by the end of 2021.

Despite tough contract talks, Winter said that pressuring the defense giant into an unilateral contract agreement is an "endgame tactic" and "we are nowhere near that."

"I'm negotiating for the best deal," he said. "I'm gonna go for the best deal for the taxpayer, for my partners and as importantly as the next negotiation starting point for lot 12 and on."
Story here.

*  Needs to know the true COST of the airplane.

*  The number of defective aircraft needs to go down.

*  Sustainment costs are poised to make the airplane unaffordable.

This sounds like the F-35 program is still in trouble.

The Pentagon has a problem that has embraced the worst aspects of capitalism.  Double digit profit margins as the norm, not the exception. That pressures Lockheed Martin to keep the price as high as possible to keep returns as high as possible.

The Pentagon is trying to defend the country and LM is trying to win for its stockholders.

I don't know if those are compatible positions.

The reality is simple.  The Pentagon placed all their eggs in the Lockheed Martin basket and they're gonna have to force a price on them with the information they have.  Will that make other defense firms skittish?  Doubtful. Everyone is well aware of the games that Lockheed Martin plays.  If you don't believe me ask Patria!
