I don't like these feels...via Semper Annoying Tumblr

I don't like these feels......

Donald Trump won.. So what the gym is still open!

Why the above vid?

Because I can't believe the freakouts that we're seeing over the election.  I do wonder what would have happened if Hillary had won (I still believe a few people were prepared to go "operational"...not many but four or five nationwide for sure) but that's neither here nor there.  Trump won, we've survived bad presidents before and we'll survive him (if he turns out to be the third Obama term).

Anyway, I found the guy funny.  Rants are like that.  People are venting, expressing a little frustration and if you take the time to look at it in a certain way, its comical as fuck but he made some good points.  95% of things don't affect you and yours...unless you let in and ALLOW it to affect you and yours.

Thanks to Israel for the link!

Great vid but it does highlight an issue for the Brazilian Army.  They're gonna have to modernize their heavy tanks or get new ones.  I'm a bit surprised that they didn't get a piece of the German fire sale on Leopard 2's but they still have time for that.  Of course the other option is to buy a few M1A1's that the US has in storage but I kinda doubt they'll go that way.

For better or worse when it comes to armor, the Brazilians go European.

Regardless they're gonna have to make a move soon.  Too many of their neighbors and competitors have modern MBTs and they're going to have to keep pace.

Two F-18's crash. Marine Air is in crisis.

via San Diego Union Tribune.
Two Marine pilots survived a midair collision Wednesday morning off the coast of Southern California.
One of the pilots ejected safely into the water following the 11:43 a.m. accident and the other made an emergency landing at the nearby North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, Marine officials said.
Coast Guard and Navy search-and-rescue teams received a mayday call at 12:11 p.m. Sailors from the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson scrambled to retrieve the Marine pilot 30 minutes later, according to a Marine Corps statement.
Both pilots were reported as being in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
Their single-seat F/A-18 Hornets belonged to the “Black Knights” of Fighter Attack Squadron 314 stationed at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.
The Wednesday accident follows a string of recent mishaps involving F-18 fighters.
Marine Air is in crisis.

Just eyeballing things, the mishap rate has sky rocketed.  Thankfully both pilots survived but good God!  This is unsat.

I sense but can't prove that the focus to get the F-35 across the finish line by all means necessary is affecting the fleet.  I can't prove it but someone should investigate training, maintenance and standards across the Wing.

Even worse?  This is another incident where we don't hear a thing from Davis. A Harrier crashed in the Pacific and he said nothing.  An F-18 crashed after that and he did nothing.  We see this incident and again...NOTHING!

I ask this seriously.

Why does Davis still have a job when its obvious that the Wing is in worse condition now than when he took over the job!

Watch the vid carefully.  They're firing guided missiles from their Mobile Gun Systems main gun!  I thought that went out of fashion!

Mark my words guys.  The Chinese are building a powerful armored combined arms team and they're doing it with a quickness.  You don't build a force like that unless you intend to use it.  One other thing.  Most forces in the region have become so small because they desire to "professionalize" that the Chinese already have numerical superiority if not technological.  That means that they can rest easy if its just about their neighborhood.  But they aren't resting easy which means that they have their eyes on a bigger foe and perhaps a bigger prize.

3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment jump with the 82nd during Battalion Mass Tactical Week...

I wonder if the Canadians are moving to the new US parachute or if they're just jumping them to earn their foreign jump wings?  If I'm not mistaken they usually use the British model.  The kicker?  The Brit chute is suppose to have an even slower sink rate than our new piece of kit.

Veterans Day...

Today is Veterans Day and while you're enjoying the day let me be the first to thank you for your service.  A real thanks.  That shit ain't easy so thanks for doing the hard thing.

I wonder though.  I'm usually against importing European ways of doing things but I do like the "Poppy" thing.  I wonder if we should adopt it or something similar for this day?

Blast from the past. Suppressing an enemy sniper outside a firebase in Vietnam

Looks just like the firepower demonstrations I saw as a little boy at Ft. Hood.  I wonder if they got the sniper?  That much fire on target would micro fragment the guy if they did.
