Want to know why pulling out of Syria is a smart move? Syrian Free Army teams with Turkey to launch offensive...the same SFA that we were supporting!

Complex and chaotic doesn't properly describe how crazy Syria is right now.  Want to know why pulling out of Syria is a smart move?  Check out the story below.

via Reuters.
Turkish forces and Syrian rebel allies will push into Syria “shortly”, a Turkish official said on Wednesday, in an operation world powers fear could open a new phase in Syria’s war and deepen regional turmoil.

Turkey has been poised to advance into northeast Syria since U.S. troops began vacating the area in an abrupt policy shift by U.S. President Donald Trump widely criticised in Washington as a betrayal of America’s Kurdish militia allies.

On Tuesday, Turkish officials told Reuters that the military had struck the Syrian-Iraqi border to prevent Kurdish forces using the route to reinforce the region, though details of the strikes were hazy.

“The deployments, preparations are continuing,” Defence Minister Hulusi Akar told state-owned Anadolu news agency.

Ankara has said it intends to create a “safe zone” in order to return millions of refugees to Syrian soil, but the scheme has alarmed some Western allies as much as the risks posed by the military operation itself.

For Turkey, which views Kurdish YPG fighters in northeast Syria as terrorists because of their ties to militants waging an insurgency inside Turkey, an influx of non-Kurdish Syrians would help it secure a buffer against its main security threat.
This is the part that the smartest guys in the room won't tell you.

This thing is a massive shooting circle with everyone shooting at each other. The Syrian Free Army are the same people that Graham and  McCain visited and lauded as champions of the Syrian people.  They were also composed of ISIS members AND they're now allied with Turkey on this planned push to seize Syrian lands.

The YPG, part of our Kurdish allies are labeled as terrorists by the Turkish govt.  Do you not remember the big kerfuffle about the SEAL Team that was spotted wearing their patches and how the Turks went batshit crazy about it?

Yeah.

But to add gas to the fire do you remember that the Kurds pissed off Turkey, Iraq AND Syria by declaring a state that would gobble up parts of Syria and Iraq?

The Kurds have fought by our side and fought well.  But they made a strategic mistake of epic magnitude by demanding a state.  Additionally from my understanding they did it without consultation, or if they did consult us they rejected our counsel to stand down.

Syria is a massive tarbaby that will gobble up parts of our forces for another century.

I don't buy for one minute the idea that its essential that we remain to safeguard Israel either.  The Israelis are quite capable.  We're poised to cross swords with Iran (hope not but they're literally insane) and Hezbollah will get stomped when Iran out of necessity has to pullback to deal with internal problems.

It's time to leave.

Trump's instincts were right.  His messaging is goofy, erratic, and confusing...with huge doses of megalomania mixed in.

But he's still right.  Time to bail on the Syria quagmire.

Ukrainian Otaman-3 Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier

via KyivPost.com
A prototype unit of the Otaman-3, a new amphibious armored personnel carrier, was for the first time presented in public at the Weapons and Security exhibition, which kick-started in Kyiv on Oct. 8.

The vehicle was designed by Kyiv-based private company Practika in a bid to propose a solution replacing old Soviet BTR and BRDM family carriers with a highly protected, universal, and heavily armed vehicle fit for modern warfare, specifically for non-linear and asymmetric combat.

According to developers, the Otaman (a Cossack chieftain) is an armored carrier optimal for marine combat formations. It was designed with a focus on ensuring the personnel’s best possible survivability and with due consideration to recommendations from Ukrainian combat veterans of the Donbas war.

“The most important thing nowadays is not only to make it to a battlefield,” the company’s director-general Oleh Vysotskiy said during the presentation. “But also get back alive. Increasing the chances of soldiers to survive and get back alive was our priority.”

In tune with modern tendencies, the Otaman-3 vehicle was designed to have its engine section in the forward body, while its landing compartment is placed in the afterbody. This is particularly believed to be ensuring additional robustness as personnel exits the vehicle on the battlefield.

Let's be honest about the withdrawal from Syria...let's have an honest discussion about Trump's decision.

Ignore for just a second the latest tweet from Trump.  You know the one where he talks about his wisdom.

Instead let's focus on the 900 pound gorilla in the room.

Trump stated that US forces would withdraw from Syria and the Think Tank Mafia, current and retired Generals, media from both sides of the isle, politicians from both parties and so called experts on the region all told us the same thing.

The idea is nuts.

My question is why?

Look at the mess that is Syria.  We allied with TERRORISTS to perform regime change.

Full stop.

That's just the pathetic fact.

Additionally I can't prove it but it's readily apparent that not only did we assist ISIS in their attacks on the Syrian govt but we defended that terror group from others that sought to destroy them.

The result was the most chaotic battlefield that I've ever seen.

But that's not even the biggest problem.  The problem is that we've entered into yet another war and WE DON'T HAVE A PLAN TO EXTRACT OURSELVES FROM IT.

So if the smartest guys in the room don't have a plan, mind you they're the same folks that have had us in Afghanistan for almost 20 years, then why is now not the time to pull out.

Don't play the Kurds are a great ally card  either.  They made this situation extremely problematic when they declared a Kurdish state.  An ally that acts in that way in that region isn't really an ally.

They're an opportunist.

They've fought by our side but was it out friendship or more the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing?

As difficult as it may be, a decision in the best interest of the US MUST BE CARRIED OUT.

If you think I'm wrong then tell me how continued operations in Syria will lend itself to a wonderful outcome.

If not then bang on Trump for the idiotic statement, not the policy.  Cause from my seat it's as good as what we've got from the smart kids in class.

Hong Kong. Things are truly getting out of hand...

Chinese action MUST be imminent.  Things are getting out of hand and I'm naturally inclined to support the protesters.
