Take a minute to look at this video, each one of these tiny aircraft on this glass sculpture represents a USAAF aircraft that was lost flying from Great Britain during WW2 πΊπΈπ¬π§ pic.twitter.com/HVBP23MIrm
If you don't marvel at the sight of this then you have no perspective. That represents more aircraft than the combined air arms of EVERY 1st world nation air force today.
So they snubbed a US offer of Patriot missiles to buy the S-400 and lost the F-35 as a consequence and now they're asking for... Patriot missiles... to make the Russians step off?
Wow. This is crazy if you think about it. They defied the US by buying S-400s from Russia. They missed out on the F-35 to do it, but now they're asking for those same Patriots that were offered to keep them in the program!
They have to be smoking that stuff. Nothing else makes sense...unless they suspect kill switches that is!
What are these people thinking? Stuff like this only makes people like me (and I admit I might be in the minority with my thinking) cheer for the Russians and Syrians to get the job done and push these animals out of that country.
As for American forces?
The time for removing Assad has passed. Time to go and let this thing get solved thru diplomatic channels.
Change isn't coming to this region as some warhawks imagined. The best remaining solution is to return to as much of the previous status quo as we can muster.
I've called Syria a chaotic battlefield. Unfortunately its also a morally chaotic battlefield too.
Assad isn't worth the effort of removal if we have to support these type of animals (oh and make no mistake about it...at one point WE DID!). For this human filth killing isn't enough. These pieces of cow shit also have to behead their enemies?
It's past time to leave. We shouldn't have one US service member in this pile of steaming shit.
My view?
Assad can have his country. He helped us during our time in Iraq with interrogations so we can leave him be. Russia wants to play? Ok. You got Syria and fickle ass Turkey to separate. EU gets to have the flow of refugees shut off. Israel gets our protection from Iran. Saudi Arabia gets invited to get the fuck outta Yemen and hopefully the whole region can learn to chill the fuck out.
Last month, GA-ASI conducted its 2nd Multi-Domain Operations demo using an ER Gray Eagle and long range sensors. The GE-ER identified emitters, utilizing @L3HarrisTech 250km ranged COMINT payload, while cross-cueing the onboard SA Radar to produce coordinates for rapid targeting. pic.twitter.com/7ucsp6OYNQ
The Navy’s research and development portfolio will devote $30 million to a “next-generation medium amphibious ship design” that will likely be based on an Australian designer’s stern landing vessel.
Shortly after Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. David Berger took command of the service in July 2019, he began speaking of a new vision for the amphibious force – one that did not rely on a fleet of 38 traditional amphibious warships that the service had fought for for years, but instead would continue to leverage the aircraft-delivery power of the amphibious assault ship (LHA/LHD) and the command and control prowess of the amphibious transport dock (LPD) but also invest in new alternate amphibs to help the Marine Corps disperse its people and gear around the littorals.
The Navy and Marines announced in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget request that they will seek a medium amphibious ship that can support the kind of dispersed, agile, constantly relocating force described in the Littoral Operations in Contested Environment (LOCE) and Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO) concepts the Marine Corps has written, as well as the overarching Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO) from the Navy. According to a budget overview document, “a next-generation medium amphibious ship will be a stern landing vessel to support amphibious ship-to-shore operations.”
Why do "Change Agents" fail when it comes to altering the trajectory of an organization?
Because they fail to communicate their vision to the people that are necessary to bring it to light...they fail to get buy in so they fail to muster the support needed.
But they talk to other leaders and get them onboard so why do they fail? Because the rubber meets the road with the laborers, the little people that actually make things run.
Berger is proposing to be a change agent.
If this is where he's going then I'm thrilled at the possibilities.
So if I'm liking what I'm seeing then what's behind the drivel up top? Because Berger and the rest of HQMC needs to climb out of their foxhole and let us know where we're going. We're ready to climb aboard but they need to talk to us.
If this is a test then I can tell them that they passed with me and I'm looking forward to the experiments with this class of ship.
Nice forward thinking boys. Now tell us all what else is on your wish list!!!
The DAGOR has been put through its paces on the tough sand dunes of Braunton Burrows: as part of the Future Commando Force experimentation and modernisation.
Jesus! Will you people chill the fuck out with regard to the above incident! Back in the cold war we played bump and tag with 10K ton destroyers in the middle of the Ocean. We have some indication that our subs played even deadlier games against their subs. Our aircraft (both sides) have come close to shooting the opposition down.
Bumping vehicles is NO BIG DEAL!
Let it go and move on.
People are killing, being killed etc...in the grand scheme of things this ain't shit.
