Happy Birthday Marines!

The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his missile!  Jokes aside, Happy Birthday!

Election Comment Post. 10 Nov 2020 - Biden asks Trump voters to give him a chance.

Comments about the election go here.  Trying to swing back to normal broadcasting.

Sidenote.  Prayers for my Aunt that just passed after fighting cancer.  Great great great lady.  She will be missed.  Why would God put such a wonderful person thru the trauma of cancer?  This kinda shit tests my faith.

Back on track.  Biden says that he wants Trump voters to give him a chance (word about his executive orders gives me pause on that though).  Do you think he will unify the country or are we hopelessly divided?

Note.  This is part of the testing that Berger will use to justify killing the AAV/ACV.  Mark my words.  The AAV/ACV will be found to NOT fit in with the radical transformation he has in mind.  The heaviest combat vehicle in the New Marine Corps will be the JLTV.

Note.  I'm still not buying it.  Berger is REALLY gonna need to find some savings since Biden won election and he's gonna have to satisfy the progressives by cutting into the military budget.  Expect these to be brought into service, quickly retired and no more bought when the full rate production decision is made in early 2021. Additionally he's talking about hunting and killing subs now.  The USMC is moving further and further from ground combat. Quite honestly I'll be surprised if its a separate service in 10 years.  Expect that to be another cost saving measure.

Major Capers. A real legend getting his due!

I don't know how many of you saw it but the "Black Panther" movie was a fun romp (Marvel Comics character).  I enjoyed the hell out of that fictional/sci-fi drama.

But!

This guy was a real deal hero.  We did it for a fictional hero but not a real live icon?

Nothing.

We have questionable politicians (at least in my mind...if nothing else divisive) that have earned that honor.  We even have bases named after people that sought to leave the United States and form a confederacy (haven't written on that issue BUT I'm not in favor of changing the names now...too many blacks, asians, american indians etc...have been there and have added a new page to the legacy of those bases).

I don't see the same honor given to this American badass.

The dude is 110% a Marine.  I guess he's used to it.

You guys seeing this? Denmark killed 17 million mink because they transmitted covid to humans...UK bans travel from that country...

Ok.

I'm trying real hard to wrap my head around this one.  A quick rundown of what I recall from the spotty news reporting on covid.

*  There were at least two strains of this thing.  One more deadly than the other. From what I recall Italy got hit with the vicious version and the US got hit with a milder form (I think).

*  Everyone claimed that it was a natural disease while I pounded the table on this blog saying that it escaped from a research lab in China.

*  Europe is going thru a crazy serious round 2 of this thing.

*  Apparently no one is quite sure where this thing came from.  I recall talk of bats then patagonias but everyone was blaming wet markets in China.

Is this a game changer for this virus?

It's gone from animals, to humans, back to animals and NOW back to humans. Denmark just put 17 million animals to death (would have died anyway) because they're so freaked out.

The UK just banned all people from Denmark.

Apparently the US hasn't taken any action or the news media is so wrapped up in the election coverage that they haven't noticed (here in the US ... and that's the mainstream media).

Personally I'm sitting up in my chair on this one.  I'm not alarmed but I'm watching it.
