The US Army's Regionally Aligned Readiness and Modernization Model
The Regionally Aligned Readiness and Modernization Model, or ReARMM, will transform the #USArmy into a multi-domain capable force ready for competition, crisis, conflict & change. 💪

Wow.
This will be interesting. Looks like the Army is about to do a "Berger" to their force but in a more pragmatic (I hope) way.
They're gonna shed forces (certain combat power) but they're going to regionally focus their forces.
What does that mean?
I think my prediction for the 25th ID is spot on. They're gonna be tailored to fight China. That means long range artillery, anti-ship missiles, more airmobile/airborne, concentration of landing craft so they can shoot from islands too (without having to ask the Navy for a ride...they might even buy some of those small amphibs!) etc...
A tank heavy/mech force for the Middle East and Europe and only God knows what for Africa (I can actually see them going for a reinforced 173rd, maybe more aviation assets...Africa is HUGE). On second thought I would probably see them adding a Stryker Brigade to that mix, maybe two.
Regardless this is gonna be interesting.
My question.
How do all the services (with NO exceptions) expect to build a new force when covid is gonna see us practically mired in a recession and the economy limping back?
Do they really think the American people of ANY political persuasion will back increased defense budgets over what we have now?
How is the Pentagon gonna pay for all this?

Why are we vaccinating the entire public with a disease that has a 99.5% survival rate? What's really going on?
I don’t take credit for this, it’s just amazing. Believe the creators stamp is on it. The best gift we can give each other this year is the TRUTH 🎄 pic.twitter.com/GfT26iFYfM

The above little tweet is just a little puff to highlight my own question for my readers.
This whole thing continues to NOT MAKE SENSE!
Why are we vaccinating the ENTIRE population (or trying to) for a disease that has a 99.5% survival rate?
WHY!
What's really going on with this thing? I've looked at diseases of the past (yeah a goofy little Google search) and everything that we've had this type of response for was much more lethal OR gave debilitating injuries after having been infected.
I still contend that (giving authorities the benefit of the doubt) something serious about this disease that we HAVE NOT been told about OR we're left with the idea that just like that silliness in the Tweet says, we're being played.
Oh and spare me about the idea of saving those that are vulnerable. You don't give the healthy a vaccine that COULD CAUSE UNKNOWN INJURY to people that aren't vulnerable to a particular disease. You just don't do it.

Australia's Loyal Wingman looks BOSS (new pic!)

Well DAMN SON!!!
You gotta admit that airplane just looks RIGHT! I want one for our Air Force!
Just noticed this in the pic of French Special Ops in N. Africa...
I was just zooming thru my image library and noticed that this bubba is rocking a Magpul Drum Mag. After the USMC didn't run with them (at least I haven't noticed...I stand ready to be corrected) on their M27 when that was suppose to be the new Automatic Rifle/Machine Gun, I didn't think anyone on active duty had adopted it.
I bought a couple because I just thought they were cool and were on sale and with Biden I'm expecting some "restrictions".
But the French are actually using them in the field. Interesting. I wonder if they're finding them reliable instead of just a piece of tacticool.

The Brits actually eat an abomination known as "Chip Buttys"!
What a strange people the Brits are! No wonder there was a revolutionary war. We had no choice or they'd be forcing us to eat such weirdness. God save the Queen indeed! Save her from this madness! French fries between slices of bread? Just plain wow!
Mutated strain of Covid-19 found in the UK ...
via The BBC
He told MPs in the House of Commons that over the last week, there had been sharp, exponential rises in coronavirus infections across London, Kent, parts of Essex and Hertfordshire.
"We've currently identified over 1,000 cases with this variant predominantly in the South of England although cases have been identified in nearly 60 different local authority areas.
"We do not know the extent to which this is because of the new variant but no matter its cause we have to take swift and decisive action which unfortunately is absolutely essential to control this deadly disease while the vaccine is rolled out."
England's Chief Medical Officer Prof Chris Whitty said current coronavirus swab tests would detect the new variant that has been found predominantly in Kent and neighbouring areas in recent weeks.
The changes or mutations involve the spike protein of the virus - the part that helps it infect cells, and the target Covid vaccines are designed around.
It is too soon to know exactly what this will do to the behaviour of the virus.
Prof Alan McNally, an expert at the University of Birmingham, told the BBC: "Let's not be hysterical. It doesn't mean it's more transmissible or more infectious or dangerous.
"It is something to keep an eye on.
"Huge efforts are ongoing at characterising the variant and understanding its emergence. It is important to keep a calm and rational perspective on the strain as this is normal virus evolution and we expect new variants to come and go and emerge over time."
Dr Jeremy Farrar, Director of Wellcome, said it was potentially serious. "The surveillance and research must continue and we must take the necessary steps to stay ahead of the virus."
Damn it to all my readers in the UK! Why don't you guys let us know about this stuff? Small bitch. You guys (not just you but folks all over the globe) feel free to chime in on happenings in the US but are MUTE when it comes to stuff in your own country.
To my US readers.
I haven't posted on it but the UK and the EU are both seeing a spike in covid cases. We just have a news media that sensationalises things here and apparently the rest of the world enjoys our pain.
Now back on task.
This thing keeps mutating. We know the Baltimore Ravens had four strains in their locker room, we know that in northern Europe they had this thing jump to wild animals and then back to humans and now we have this.
Maybe herd immunity is the only real solution. I just don't think we can put this thing back into a cage...not if open source info (the limited amount that I've seen) is to be believed.
US Army is crashing into the Pacific party...

Just plain wow.
The US Army can be expected to soon tailor the 25th ID as its main go to force for the Pacific. I am betting on a specially tailored Division Artillery that will be reinforced with additional MLRS, Anti-Ship Missiles and extended range cannon artillery.
An already airmobile formation will become "EVEN MORE" mobile with me guessing that we'll either see a 173rd Airborne type formation cobbled from it or one deployed (don't they have something like that in Alaska already?).
Now?
Now they're sending their conventional Special Forces type "force multiplier unit" to partner with allies in the region.
The Army Chief Of Staff is drinking the Commandant's milkshake.
Nature is brutal...especially in Australia
![]() |
| via HistoryDaily.org |
If you weren't aware yet, nature is seriously effing scary. Who knew that there were snakes who could straight pull an animal out of the water when they get hungry? Does this make anyone else want to stay inside forever?
This snake is known as an olive python or a water python, and while it's not poisonous it is a seriously vicious monster. In all likelihood even if you come across one of these bad boys in the wild it's not going to attack you unless you get on its nerves. Olive pythons can grow to up to 16 feet long, unhinge their bottom jaw and swallow animals that are much larger than their circumference. It's genuinely upsetting that a monster like this can exist, but as long as you're not in the wilds of Australia you should be fine. Right? |
