The pushback has begun...the medical profession IS losing the debate...

I knew this would happen.

I knew people would reach a point to where a large portion of the population says "fuck it".  This lady has and I suspect there are MANY MANY MANY more just like her.

Ukraine to upgrade Indonesian PT-76 light tank with Belgian turret LCTS 90mm cannon

Here.

A good idea in theory.  Not knocking on the LCTS 90, but do you see the size of that turret?

How in the world is that vehicle gonna be able to support that?  I'm looking forward to see the solution that the Ukrainians come up with.

Side note.  Has anyone noticed how quickly Ukraine disappeared from the headlines once the Russia investigation fizzled?

Overrun hospitals?

I did a post in which I stated that I was becoming a bit pissed at the medical profession.

The reason for this?

On one hand we have them lecturing us that they're tired, overrun, overworked and demanding that the nation shut down, we wear masks etc.

On the other hand we're seeing videos like the one above.

MAKE UP MY MIND!

Either you're getting slammed beyond belief or you're lying to us cause you seem to have time to choreograph dance moves while jiggling down the hospital isles!

The messaging on this coronavirus thing has been a mess.  The medical profession isn't making it any better.

The above video does not help.

Fauci admits to LYING about Covid-19 herd immunity threshold to manipulate public support for vaccine, moves goal post to 90%

 via RT

But the doctor's changing story on herd immunity is only the latest in a series of Covid-19 flip-flops, including 180-degree shifts on such core issues as whether members of the general public should wear masks and whether children should be sent back to school.

Just as his tone on herd immunity changed, his view on prospects for a return to normalcy shifted dramatically. A few days before the November 3 presidential election, he echoed Biden's gloomy Covid-19 outlook and implied that the Democrat challenger would deal with the crisis more seriously than President Donald Trump. After the election, he turned far more optimistic.

“This is not the first time that Fauci has admitted to deceiving the public for utilitarian purposes in regard to coronavirus,” journalist Ari Hoffman tweeted. Another observer agreed, pointing out Fauci's flip-flop on masks. “The fact that people still listen to these experts is the most worrying thing,” he said.

Setting expectations for getting economic activity back to normal is virtually impossible without realistic projections for the vaccination rate that would provide herd immunity. Dr. Moncef Slaoui, chief scientific adviser for the Trump administration's vaccine rollout, said in late November that “true herd immunity” would take place without about 70 percent of Americans being inoculated, which might be achieved by sometime in May 2021.

Pride goeth before the fall.

This dudes halo will be smashed before all this is said and done.  I hope he's enjoying the fame now cause the public will turn on him like demons once the assessment of this mess is carried out.

It might be historians that do it but he will not go down as a hero.

That's my opinion.  What's yours?e

Good God the F-15 was a sexy beast when it was first introduced and flying "clean"!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Ya know what's crazy when you get a little age on you, get a bit wiser and learn to sit back and watch events/people?

You begin to understand that although you might not be financially rich, you can be wealthy in the ways that matter.

So the ironic thing becomes that with a little bit of hard won wisdom you start NOT needing a thing at Christmas.

At least nothing that can be bought in stores.

So if Santa (that our society created to support corporate interests) existed and asked me what I wanted it wouldn't cost him a dime.

Cause what I want for each and every one of you is a long, wonderful, healthy life filled with your friends and loved ones.

Be well ya'll.

I'm off to work!

THIS ! This is why the medical profession is pissing me off and will have alot to answer for...

Crying in one video.

Dancing like some moronic idiots in another.

The medical profession is/has been pissing me off all year.

They need to make up their mind with regard to this covid shit.  AT LEAST get the messaging right.

Democrat infighting over the new SecDef...the Flournoy faction strikes back!

 via Politico

President-elect Joe Biden’s historic choice for secretary of defense is running into hurdles on Capitol Hill, as key Democrats express concerns publicly and privately about whether installing a retired four-star general at the helm of the Pentagon further erodes civilian oversight of the military.

Rep. Seth Moulton, an influential member of the House Armed Services Committee, on Wednesday became the most prominent House Democrat to say he will not vote to grant retired Gen. Lloyd Austin a waiver to the law barring recently retired military officers from serving as defense secretary.

Here

Wow.

This is gonna be one hell of a fur ball and a big time faction splitting headache for Biden.

In different corners (sorry gotta be actual and factual) you have Blacks, Academics/Political Class, Women and the hoped for emerging Vet split (maybe, don't have a good read) for the Dems.

Mainly though you have the Flournoy faction pushing hard for her selection.

I've never seen anything like this since the mad rush to select Mattis for SecDef (and I thought that was a one off).

The entire establishment seems to be behind her.

Biden doesn't seem sold.

Not at all.

I don't know what gives but instead of the consensus pick he rolled with Austin. It couldn't be because the pick would be historic.  It would be historic with Flournoy.

Could it be cold politics?

Biden couldn't have won the nomination without the Black turnout in South Carolina that resurrected his dying campaign so maybe.

I don't know.  I don't follow the inside the Beltway stuff and the Beltway likes their secrets anyway so this will never hit the news.

One thing is certain though.  This bears watching!

Side note.  I just remembered one thing though.  Flournoy is an INTENSE China critic and she'll be all onboard the Pentagon's push to pivot.  Could that actually be a reason why Biden doesn't want her?????

Where did this myth of the Boxer IFV having unmatched ground mobility come from?

First.

Thanks to THINK DEFENCE for the vid.

Second.

Where did this myth of the Boxer IFV having unmatched ground mobility come from?  For that matter where did the idea of WHEELED IFVs having the same cross country capability as tracked vehicles!

The reality is simple.

Wheeled vehicles are cheaper to operate and a BIT easier to maintain (maintenance will still be a bear, getting parts SHOULD be cheaper/easier cause they're automotive or so we're told).

BUT!!!

Tracks are better cross country.  Full stop.  That's the facts!

So let's put the idea that wheels can keep up with tracks cross country to bed FOREVER!  Want another kick in the pants?  With rubber tracks becoming a thing that advantage on roads that wheels currently have is gonna come down to one data point.  Weight.  With wheeled vehicles approaching the weight of medium tanks now that advantage is going away.  Prediction.  In a few years everyone will be on an all tracks all the time just like wheels are all the rage today.

Russia set to restart development of an amphibious assault vehicle

My guess?

Most will think that this is a move to get ready for a move into the Pacific. I think otherwise.  My guess is they're gearing up their Naval Infantry/Marines for out of area operations in Africa/Middle East.

That Syrian naval base is gonna get a workout and all those moves in Africa are gonna need a bit more muscle than just their airborne forces can provide.

The US Army is going to regionally aligned forces?

I hope they're looking at moving a Stryker Brigade Combat Team or two in that direction.  The long range mobility along with the firepower will be needed in that region.  Oh and maybe the 101st has found an overseas home too.  Air Assault operations should be a given consider how big that place is.
