U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopters transport Kilo Company Marines at CATC, Camp Fuji, Japan
The US Army is like a bad house guest.
Once they stick their foot in the door it's hell getting them to leave.
You're seeing the first bit of their foot creeping into Berger's concept. Army rocket artillery and now aviation? Soon you're gonna see the rest of their force clamor to get in the door in the Pacific and then it's over.
Weight of forces will see them sitting at the table and then the Marine Corps will be sitting at the kiddie table while the Navy, Army and Air Force discuss what will be done and how.
We've subordinated ourselves to the Navy again.
It's a mistake that will have ramifications for the future but Berger's under desk pleasure force can't see the forest for the trees.

California covid strain?
via NY Post.
Scientists in California believe there is a homegrown coronavirus strain in the state that could be responsible for the dramatic rise in cases, a report said Sunday.
Two separate research groups have discovered the apparent California strain while looking for the new variant that is believed to have come from the United Kingdom, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The supposed California strain is in the same “family tree” as the UK strain and could be behind the state’s spread over the past few months, the paper said.
One of the labs that discovered the strain, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said it amounted to 24 percent of about 4,500 viral samples gathered throughout California in the last weeks of 2020.
Another analysis found that 25 percent of 332 samples taken in Northern California were of the new strain.
Did the Spanish Flu mutate like this? If not then we're in uncharted territory. This little monster is mutating faster than we can get cures. I wonder if we're on the verge of a human culling?

With the Commandant's new concept is the Marine Corps reverting back to its WW2 roots of being subordinate to the Navy. Answer? YES!
We can talk about this elephant in the ward room.

If FMFs are to support the TJFMCC in maritime campaigning-those FMF formations must be of a fleet...in doing so, proper naval integration in no way is commensurate with service subordination. pic.twitter.com/wr0f3Gkxr6
This is an outstanding question but MAGTravF has it wrong.
Of course this concept makes the Marine Corps subordinate. Of course it means that the Marine Corps no longer deserves a seat at the JCS. Of course it means that this reverses all the hard work done by so many for so long.
If the Commandant's vision becomes reality then it doesn't make sense for the Marine Corps to be considered a separate service.
To be honest I thought that becoming subordinate to the Navy was part of what this was all about and part of the plan to guarantee the existence of the Marine Corps in his twisted plan.
I find it funny that anyone could think that this wasn't leading to this inevitable outcome.
If you make yourself subordinate then you will be subordinate.
The Commandant is making us subordinate so that is what we will become.

If the officer can properly articulate that he was in fear of his life then no matter how much the mob howls he'll be ok. This will be considered reasonable.
Sorry folks.
