The difference between fake rich & real rich...

 

I see this so much its sickening. I wonder about the mentality behind this. Just weird. The terrible thing is that our (the US) economy is built on this type thinking. Memes are even built around it. 

"Fake it before you make it".

If America ever had a sudden realization across the board I wonder how that would affect things?

I mean even our "poor" wear expensive clothing and jewelry. 

Everyone talks about a revolution but if everyone "devolved" into living within our means I think the fat cats on Wall Street and even in the Government would shit bricks.

They're just getting practice in for when the Army has a tilt rotor of its own.  That new beast I think is gonna be fierce.  My guess is that the 160th will test and adopt it pretty damn quick as will AFSOC.

Depending on its capabilities and budget implications you might even see the Navy revive its Special Ops Air Units and get the SEALs a few for homegrown aviation support.

With SOCOM apparently here to stay I think that might be the one hold up for MARSOC.  They're attached to the regular Marine Corps whether they like it or not yet have no independent assets to assist them in their mission.

If they ever get a powerful advocate in the Marine Corps I can even see them getting a few dozen to make MARSOC the monster they want it to be.  Then they'll finally get in the game...maybe as a Ranger alternative but in the game none-the-less. Hell if they're extremely lucky maybe they can tap into the old Force Recon legacy and get to be one of SOCOMs long range special recon/direct action, tier 1 forces.

Houston, TX police responded to a report of an accident and were told that an intoxicated male had struck the vehicle, threatened the female owner of the vehicle with a firearm, then left the scene. 

 An officer located the vehicle and upon arrival observed the suspect inside with a firearm in his lap and his hand on the firearm. The officer then gave verbal commands which were ignored and decided to perform an improvised 9mm JHP ballistics test with glass and the door as intermediate barriers with his Staccato P 2011 wearing a red dot and Surefire X300 weapon light. 

 The suspect was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead saving taxpayers millions of dollars. 

 Plan accordingly...

Damn it! Dude told me to go to the Philippines years ago. Who knew that Asia is where a man should look!

Body armor that can stop a 50 cal round?

The thing with the "heavy" body armor is that they're all designed to take the larger rounds at distance. He was 50 ft(?) away so the shock trauma would kill you anyway. What has me spinning is that, if I'm not mistaken, he used at least on ingredient that's common in high end holsters replacing kydex.

US Army's DeepFires Autonomous Launcher. The Marine Corps should've waited on the Army to develop CREDIBLE deep strike


Most people (including me) ignored the fact that basing an anti-ship missile on the JLTV would size constrain it to such an extent that it would make any missile whether deployed to the naval or ground fight short ranged.

We already have the HIMARS in service which is based on the FMTV so using that platform for deep strike missions should have been a no brainer.

Don't get me wrong.  The improvements to the HIMARS missiles will make it, I hope very credible in the mission set, but the Army is moving toward more capable missiles to assist in both arenas of concern (anti-ship/ground).

Not to turn this into another anti Force Design 2030 rant, but the next issue that is gonna be huge is that the attached air defense is woefully inadequate too.

FD2030 is wrecked beyond belief but they just won't let it go.  I wonder why?
