The Leibstandarte Division during the Kharkov counteroffensive in late February and March 1943.

Another battle on the Eastern Front that I have no knowledge of.  Luckily I'm getting better.  Bought a book recommended by Noble for my birthday and its pretty damn chilling.  Definitely need to broaden my horizons in the coming year.

Something different but kinda funny...

Do you get it?  The ducks were drug dealers!  Ah never mind...I thought it was funny though...

Something different but very strange...

Can you imagine all the critters that have existed that we know nothing about that probably would chill us to the bone today?  Can you imagine what lurks in the dark places of this world that would do the same that we know nothing about?  Can you imagine what exists on other worlds that would probably give us all nightmares (assuming there is life on other planets)?

This is the failure of globalism?

Dude is so wrong.  He left out lost lives, exploding budgets, lowered standard of living etc....

Globalism isn't dead yet, but its getting stabbed in the chest by the people of almost every Western nation.

Okay.  Thought Jordan only bought US and Brit.  I guess a helicopter that can provide lift almost equal to a C-130 was too good to pass up.

The part of the story about the child illegal immigrant death in Border Patrol custody that you didn't hear...

via Daily Caller.
The father of the Guatemalan child who died Christmas Eve denied further medical treatment from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents after the child vomited following an initial examination from doctors, a spokesman from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on a call to reporters Wednesday.

Government officials provided further details, including the startling disclosure of the father’s behavior, regarding the timeline of the child’s deteriorating condition. According to officials, the 8-year-old boy, Felipe Gomez Alonzo, was given multiple medical examinations by doctors before being released with prescription medications.
Story here.

Interesting isn't it?  Don't know about you but I've been inundated with news on this yet haven't heard this part of the story.

Wonder why this part was left out?

One thing is certain.  No matter what side of the border you're born on, you can't escape bad parenting.

It happened. Open Carry Activist had his gun taken by homeless man....

suspect in the successful gun snatch

via Ammoland.

“The friend said the victim, a gun advocate, wanted to make a statement about the right to bear arms and had been on busy State Street a couple of times practicing open carry,” DeSpain said. “The friend also admitted they were Downtown to get girls’ phone numbers.”

Bogus, who is known to Downtown patrol officers, confronted the man saying something like, “Why you wanna kill people?” DeSpain said. “The man with guns responded by saying he was armed because it was his right and it was for protection.”

Bogus then closed the distance between the two, getting close enough to grab a holstered handgun from the armed man, DeSpain said.

Bogus “pointed the loaded weapon at the victim, and the victim, in turn, pulled out his long gun and pointed it” at Bogus, DeSpain said. “It was a fluid, tense and quick standoff.”

Bogus ran off with the man’s gun, DeSpain said. Officers found him and recovered the stolen handgun, taking Bogus into custody on several tentative charges.

I get what Open Carry Activists are TRYING TO DO, but I still think its batshit stupid.

This guy is lucky he didn't get killed.

Open Carry?

Just don't do it.  If you're serious about self defense then its the last thing in the world anyone should do.

If you're an Activists?

You're on your own.  We part company on this one.

Lets have a real talk about hotspots and whether or not we benefit from participation in them...

Ok folks.  Let's break this down shotgun style.  We need to talk about hotspots around the world and YOU need to explain to me how the United States of America benefits from being involved...putting our forces in harms way and spending our national treasure for the benefit of others.

Have a care!

I don't want opinions!  I WANT FACTS!  I don't need the usual "feel good" or your particular brand of morality!

We're talking about the national interests of the USA and how we're benefited by sending our forces to the frontier.

The locations that have my bald head itching?

Syria.

How does our participation in that man made clusterfuck help us?  At what point can we declare victory?  ISIS is the new version of Al Qaeda.  We will ALWAYS see some terrorists organization.  From my chair it's a police matter or at worst something that Special Ops should be all over.

Afghanistan.

We've been trying for almost 20 years to bring civilization to people that have no interest in it.  We've wasted untold amount of money and many many many good people have paid the ultimate sacrifice in trying to put in place a flawed strategy.  We've tried surges.  We've spent billions and billions of dollars and its still jacked up.  Tell me how we fix the place (assuming you're one of the "stay the course" crowd).

Africa.

Whack and mole.  Similar to the Middle East except there isn't oil.  What should we do?  There are places of striking beauty, wonderful people and wanting to modernize.  We should be selective!  Pick those countries that are worthy of being allies and dump the rest.  Kenya comes to mind as a good ally. S. Africa has potential but they're gonna need some serious guidance (should be a no brainer...they're going thru what we've been thru...).  Sierra Leone (interesting that the former Brit colonies are some of the countries that I'm seeing as having potential).

S. America.

This is different.  The mess there is gonna affect us directly.  Correction IS AFFECTING us.

Ukraine.

A hotbed of neo-Nazis, corrupt govt and a stupid war.

But you get the idea.  All you pseudo globalists, undercover Neo-Cons and others in the audience need to defend your thinking.

Breaking! Russia just successfully tested a nuclear capable HYPERSONIC missile....

We better hope our nerds are better than their nerds but just keeping quiet about it or we just lost another lead.

Even worse.

If we're going by open source then we're behind in the hypersonics race...we're losing to Russia, China and by extension India....

SB>1 DEFIANT™

Thing looks to be almost the same size as the Merlin Helicopter....bigger than I imagined it would be...

Let's all hope they're on track so we can get a good look at the tech and do a real good assessment on what needs tilt and what needs pusher for a given role...

Why would they kill us? We are Muslims. We are not Russians or Americans...this is why Afghanistan is hopeless...

via Military.com
The death toll from a Christmas Eve attack in the Afghan capital has climbed to 40, the Health Ministry said Tuesday, as police and rescue workers combed through the smoldering public welfare building where the gunmen held out for eight hours against security forces.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden vehicle outside the building Monday before at least three gunmen stormed in, rampaging through the office complex hunting for victims. Some employees managed to barricade themselves inside offices while police quickly evacuated more than 350 people.
Yeah that's right.  We're supposedly winning in Afghanistan while the capitol city is absorbing almost weekly large scale terror attacks (don't even want to think what the crime rate must be like).

The Taliban not only control almost half the country (counting disputed areas) but now they're striking Kabul routinely.

But even if you think we could claw it back somehow, it's the average Afghan on the street which points out how hopeless this entire enterprise really is.  From the same article...
Abdul Jalil, an employee who spoke to reporters Tuesday from his hospital bed, was on the second floor when the gunmen entered.

"They came in and they were shooting at everyone. They were shooting at the closed doors. If anyone was there they shot them," he said.

Jalil said he jumped from a second-story window and broke his leg. He managed to crawl to a perimeter gate where security personnel helped him to safety. Jalil said at least five of his co-workers jumped with him from the window, and he saw his boss jump from a third-story window.

Khalil Rahman, who escaped unhurt, said "it was a massacre. We didn't know where to run."

He told reporters outside the charred building that he still could hear the sounds of the screaming.

"It was chaos. Everyone was running everywhere, trying to hide. Why would they kill us? We are Muslims. We are not Russians or Americans," Khalil said.
Drink that statement in (the one I highlighted in red)...then ask yourself one thing.  Is "hearts and minds working"???  Has it ever worked?  Will it ever work?
