Ukraine's 80th Airborne Assault Brigade carried out the massacre...what will SecDef Austin's response be?

Video of Ukrainian troops committing war crimes...

I wonder if all the Ukraine fan boys will be outraged by this or hit us with a whataboutism. This is not our business. This is more akin to a civil war than something that should involve NATO and the United States. History will not cover us in glory for our support of Ukraine but instead will wonder what the fuck were we thinking!

Increasing U.S. exports of LNG are helping to drive up natural-gas prices, which means more Americans will struggle to pay for heating this winter

Elon Musk is simply culling the herd....Only the strong can survive...

Do you want an explanation of what is going on at Twitter? Then read this ENTIRE Twitter Thread. Its really business 101 and back in the 90's this was common practice when you saw hostile takeovers. It became bastardized when those hostile takeovers turned into flipping opportunities but when people saw a potentially good company that was underperforming this was the model to make it a star.

A football game claimed the life of a player. The unknown story of Jack Trice..

via Wikipedia

On October 6, 1923, Trice and his Iowa State College teammates played against the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. On the night of the game, Trice got to stay at the same hotel as his teammates who stayed at the Radisson Hotel, but he could not eat with them in the dining room.[4]

During the second play of the game, Trice's collarbone was broken. Trice insisted he was all right and returned to the game. In the third quarter, while attempting to tackle a University of Minnesota ball carrier, Trice ended up on his back after a roll block (a play which is now banned) and was trampled by three Minnesota players.[2] Although he claimed to be fine, Trice was not able to stand and was removed from the game and sent to a Minneapolis hospital. The doctors declared him fit to travel and he returned by train to Ames with his teammates. On October 8, 1923, Trice died from hemorrhaged lungs and internal bleeding as a result of the injuries sustained during the game.[2]

There was a great deal of speculation surrounding the play that resulted in Trice's death. Iowa State teammate Johnny Behm told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in a 1979 interview that "one person told me that nothing out of the ordinary happened. But another who saw it said it was murder."[5]

Iowa State dismissed all classes after 3 p.m. on October 9, 1923, in honor of Trice.[6]

Trice's funeral was held at the Iowa State College's central campus in Ames on October 16, 1923, with 4,000 students and faculty members in attendance. His casket was draped in cardinal and gold (Iowa State's school colors) before he was buried.[7] Trice's casket was transported to Hiram, Ohio for burial at Fairview Cemetery.

As a result of his death, Iowa State did not renew its contract to play against Minnesota for 66 years. The teams would not play again until 1989.[2]

Saw this on ESPN during their late night broadcast.  Another story I had never heard.

In marches General Winter...

I don't know why ANYONE is surprised by the attacks on the energy infrastructure. I've said before and I'll say again. ATTACKING command/control centers, communications and energy infrastructure is a well established American playbook. The only surprise here is that it took the Russians this long.

But on second thought waiting till the start of winter was perhaps the proper strategic move.

The pressure is on the Kyiv govt and the focus will shift from supplying weaponry to supplying energy which will further strain the European and American allies because their citizens will be dealing with increased prices that will increase even more with a significant supply having to be routed to keep Ukraine above water.

This war has gone thru phases.  First the Russian assault that was blunted.  Next was the Ukrainian UAV war.  Russia got its air defenses in order and dulled that blade.  The naval war for Russia has always been a muddled mess with the sinking of their flagship being the first insult and the follow-on battles for the island and final the seaborne drone attack nailing the coffin on that phase.

We went thru the phase of loitering drones with both sides continuing to use them but in a more limited fashion now.  Then we had the MLRS fight....and finally we're onto the cruise missile barrage by Russia on the Ukrainian infrastructure.

What should we look for next?

I'm thinking we should see how the allies make up for reduced energy in Ukraine.  We should look to see how the Ukrainians cope with the Russian cruise missile barrage.

Finally the next big thing I predict will be when the Russians start using those Iranian ballistic missiles.  I truly believe that will be the next shock to the system and I'm just wondering what Ukrainian unit will be micro fragmented and how the allies will respond.
