First image of a v-hulled HUMVEE from BAE

BAE put out this photo of what I assume is going to be their version of a v-hulled HUMVEE.

  2. ok so they are going from under-armored and low CG to heavy and too tall, is that progress?

  3. it is since the ht of the vehicle is still lower than that of a full size MRAP or MTVR and those can fit aboard ships....oh and i'm speaking of uparmored HUMVEE's...these generation 3 types.

  4. I agree with leesea and Sol. The most important factor is that they failed to improve the most important down fall of the vehicle, human factors. Having been a commander of these vehicles I can tell you that getting in and out of them is hard to say the least. Being the 90% male makes entry and exit very hard. And now that the vehicle is taller, well, that just creates more problems, father to fall out (what tall people do).

Solo, you are right too. The MRAP sucks because they are so tall and limit operations. There are more issues with MRAP outside of height but that is for another time. They do save lives, no one will ever question that.

Fitting on ships will be hard for this vehicle, so I agree there as well.
