How are they going to make it work???

How is the Marine Corps going to get women into Combat Arms...by there very essence physical in nature....while keeping Marine Corps Infantry, Tanks, Artillery, AAVs, Engineers etc hardcore?

I have no idea.

Take the Combat Physical Fitness Test.

If they're serious about standards being equal then that is going away.

What about the tried and true PT Test?

No more flex arm hangs for you women.  Now get your ass up their and do pull ups.  Or do we water it down and do push ups?  But wait.  Men have more upper body strength than women so how do you come up with a gender neutral test????

You go Air Force or Navy and have swim tests?

Wow.

No offense to those services but thats just not the Marine way.

This is a bad idea but the powers that be...and that ranges from pussified bloggers that are politically correct all the way up to the SgtMajor of the Marine Corps over to Generals that have been in combat (ground combat) like Mattis.

They all know that this is a feel good initiative that will weaken our combat power but they won't fight it because they've lost their integrity in the effort to get pats on the back at parties in New York or DC.

I don't think many of these future female officers have any idea of the kind of stuff they're going to run into --- both stateside and down range.  God help the females that find themselves assigned to these units.  They better have the strength of Xena, better run like the wind and can hump a base plate.  Of course they'll be coddled which will breed more resentment, but Battalion Commanders will be under the gun to make it work.

I'm sure some lesbian feminist will cheer when the first female is assigned to an infantry unit.  Too bad they won't be the ones going through the hell.  No.  They'll just send someone elses daughter into the meat grinder that is Marine Corps Combat Arms.

PS.

I want video of mixed sex martial arts training.  After all we're about to send women into combat against men so it makes sense that they'll be caught in close combat situations and might have to go hands on.  So show me a fight between a five foot five inch tall female going head to head against a six two two hundred pound rage factory.  If the Commandant and his cronies are right she should be able to hold her own right?  Yeah its bullshit but he's the one feeding it to you not me.

I couldn't find an image for an upside down Marine Corps flag but this one will do.  Both the Country and the Corps is in distress.  A start to fix both organizations will be to replace the current leadership.

  1. Well Said! I know there are some tough females out there, but how is a 130lbs female Marine going to hump a motor plate or M2 barrels plus all of there own gear. The answer is they won't, a lot of men can not do it, and their legs will snap like twigs, but it not out of a lack of desire it is their physical construction. That being said are the females not going to be required to pull the same weight in the field to keep the unit operational, more than likely which will in turn create a sticky situation in the unit. The sad part is someone is going to get killed. I am not opposed to segregated units. Semper Fi, Cpl Price

  2. Semper Fi brother. many will agree with us but few will be bold enough to admit...that's another part of the problem.

    stay safe.

  3. women, should be in infantry but passing the same, Combat Physical Fitness Test etc etc. the only difference being women will have to work harder to pass said tests.
as an example of the difference, in the sexes, all the top ten men in marathon are under 2hours 5 minutes, atleast 10 minutes faster than the fastest women "Paula Radcliffe", who is by far the fastest women by as much as 3 minutes to her closest peer.

  4. darren. if its a fair test and if the standards aren't lowered then there is no way the average woman can make it. even if they're trained. thats just a fact. they can get mad, write there congresswoman but facts are facts.

    1. I'm sure, the average man even if trained, couldn't pass selection, we're talking well above average, comitted, beyond fit, margins may be lower e.g. a smaller pool of women who could pass, but their is a pool, and i'd bet many in said pool would like to go swimming!!

did i take that analogy toofar, dare, i say it, off the deep end.

  5. never been in the armed forces, just a suporter, can you give me some example stats if you will, on what you have to do e.g. what time for whatever distance, with a full pack on, what time for a mile etc etc

  6. solomon, If said, "mythical" women, could pass, would you have a problem with a females in infantry.

  7. when the brits put women in the Royal Marines (actually pass the Commando Course) then i'll be ok with it.

  8. not deflection. a comparison for understanding. you hold the Royal Marines in high regard. while you might be ok with the British Army putting women in those roles you and others would have a greater problem in putting women in the RM.

i feel the same way about the USMC.

    1. well ok, see see your point, but if a women was willing to go toe to toe, with the same rules, i wouldn't have a problem.

Another point, when the chips are down, many countries turn to their women, even in infantry, one example Lyudmila M. Pavlichenko, Russian 25th Infantry Division with 309 confirmed kills, 36 of those where other snipers. Tell me she wouldn't have the skill to be usmc infantry.

The russians arent known for making allowances, i'm sure she'd kindly knock you on your ass from a mile out, to prove the point, i could go on giving examples of tank commanders, fighter pilots, or just pure infantry fighting in stalingrad, but i'm sure you get the point, doing chin ups, running a mile 30 seconds faster, lifting larger weights doesnt make a soldier, spirit & guts & peak fitness does

  9. About your question for mixed sex martial arts training - they already do that at the Air Force Academy and if I'm not mistaken at USNA and USMA as well. During the graded fights women fight women, but during the class they have to fight men as well. I can't say what the results were for all women who went through, but the women who fought against the men during practice in the class I went through basically got their ass kicked repeatedly.

On another note, I had a couple of friends who were on the USAFA women's basketball practice team. Since there weren't enough female basketball players at the academy to form a practice team, the women's team had to practice against male volunteers. Despite the women being recruited Division I basketball players, and about half of the men having never even played basketball on a competitive level, the practice team routinely stomped on the women's team. Anyone who pretends that physical differences between men and women are irrelevant are smoking something strong.

  10. oh and you're right. but what should worry psychologist is that guys are programmed to protect the fairer sex. once that instinct is in effect drilled out of them then what are the reprecussions for our society?

think about the violence against womens act. they will in essence make it null and void...at least when it comes to military women....oooh thanks i got to add that to my post.

    thanks Patrick.
