Sea Dart's last hurrah.

For probably the last time in its 40-year history the Navy’s principal shield against air attack, Sea Dart missiles, have been fired by a Royal Navy warship.
HMS Edinburgh launched seven of the Mach 2 missiles at target drones off the Outer Hebrides in a last hurrah ahead of a major military exercise off western Scotland.

  1. Hello Solomon,

Sea Dart is the only missile ever to have shot down an anti-shipping missile in combat to the best of my knowledge.
It also has a lot of combat aircraft kills to it's name, more than Aegis,I think.

But that video shows the limitations of the system.
Two missiles were fired within a second of each other but it appeared to take 10 seconds or more to reload.
It would not take a lot of anti-ship missiles to swamp the system.

    GrandLogistics.
