2nd Cav getting field time....

  1. One could make an argument that the 2nd ACR at 73 Easting was the most powerful armored regiment ever fielded with an attached artillery brigade, attack helicopter and engineer battalions, etc., forming the Dragoon Battle Group.

The US Army of course in it's wisdom has decided there is no more need to fight for information and thus the ACR is gone; furthermore, in a networked battlefield creating perfect situational awareness the other purposes of cavalry units are also no longer needed according to the Army. So while the the very proud 2nd Cavalry name lives on the unit is actually a Stryker Brigade.

In case it wasn't clear in my view the US Army was out of it's mind doing away with the ACR.
