I ve read your postings on the new M-27 IAR and i am curious to know your opinion...do you belive that the HK 416 is going to replace the M-16/M-4 in the army and the marine corps ?Do you think that the AR-15 family of weapons needs replacement?I am on your side when you say that a mordern day BAR is a bad idea(loss of fire power,etc) but i think your idea of renaming the HK 416 the M-16A5 is a good one...Butt will it be better than the M-4/M-16A4?
actually i'm thinking of the platform we have and an upgrade. the stiffer barrel of the hk along with the capability to put down automatic fire are the wins there. but can we make do with what we have? yeah we can so we'll probably stay put for a while.
