The roll out of the CH-53K was held today and although info, and photos are sparse, we did get news that Amos says the new name for the helo will be "King Stallion".
I don't know why but "King Stallion" just doesn't sing to me. Name this badboy "Sea Stallion II".
The CH-53K looks like that subtle quiet triumph that i think everyone in this defence industry wants. A deprature from all that overly legal, media blaring, high profile non-sense that chases almost every weapon. Untill recently it looked like even the P-8 Orion would be a silent assasin of a defense hit, that is untill those negative comments came about its limited ability gain vs. the existing P-3. Still, i think both platforms are bound for great success and, something even more important.........Prolonged lifetime. So all you spare parts/maintenance conreactors.........cheers.
