Iraq to receive 3 Mi-28 Attack Helicopters

Thanks for the pics Mr. T!

Read about it here.

I wonder.  Are we about to see a return to the "hide behind a hill...popup to shoot" instead of swooping and diving attacks that have been the norm in the lower intensity COIN ops we've been involved in.

ISIS is definitely changing playbooks.

  2. From what we see russian copter operators use swooping and diving attacks which enable maximum aplication of firepower (cannon ,rockets fire) use but are also much more exposed to enemy fire than stand off fire using 40+k$ guided missiles

Mi-28 is very heavily armored compared to any other helicopter ,crew is protected all round while other gunships only have armored glass in front. But that comes at a cost of visibility https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Fj9hdmEeBY
