Why is this a thing?
Combat Camera from all branches are preserving our military history and some ya-hoo from Alamy can claim the pics and put watermarks all over them? The same applies to many bloggers! I find it outrageous! Another bone of contention are the private photographers that have hook ups in the DoD, get flights on military aircraft, take those pics and then they're SOLD to the general public.
So let me get this straight.
The DoD gives someone a ride on military aircraft to take pics of military aircraft that the taxpayer pays for and then the person taking the pics gets to charge the public for those pics?
This whole system is broken.
You will never see watermarks from this blog on PICS THAT COMBAT CAMERA TAKES! I WILL STRIVE TO CREDIT THE PHOTOGRAPHER!
The kind of nonsense that Alamy is pushing (and others like Getty) is outrageous and should be illegal.
