Blast from the past. Type 5 “Na-To” (or Type 5 “Na — To”)

Hat tip to BMashine Tumblr for the pic!

The Type 5 “Na-To” (or Type 5 “Na — To”) was a Japanese anti-tank destroyer class of light tank destroyers developed and tested by the Japanese Empire at the end of world war II, in 1945.

The Japanese don't get much credit for their innovative armor designs during WW2 but that's because most focus on the European fight.  When it comes to armor design, especially APCs, they were ahead of the curve.

The above vehicle is brand new to me.  I actually had no idea.  Want to know the development of armor?  Want to know the real armor history of the world? Then add WW2 Japan to your list of study.
