Canada to go with a mixed fleet of F-35s and Gripens...

It's being reported that the decision around the F-35/Gripen has effectively been made, with sources telling La Presse that it will be a mixed fleet of ~30 F-35s and ~60 Gripens.

Interesting. Read somewhere that a mixed fleet would be a more expensive option than going pure Gripen but I guess --- POLITICS? But having said that a hi-lo mix is or rather was all the rage and I guess you could say that even the US Air Force is doing the same by buying F-XX, F-22, on the high end...F-35 as middle and F-15EX as the new low end on our mix.
