Xi Jinping moves to become the modern day Mao...this bears watching!

China's Communist Party is calling for the removal of presidential term limits, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, paving the way for Xi Jinping to remain as head of state after 2023.Story here.
The party's Central Committee has proposed deleting from the constitution the stipulation that a president "shall serve no more than two consecutive terms" of five years, Xinhua said.
Xi, who is also party chief and considered to be China's most powerful leader since Mao Zedong, has been president since 2013 and would step down in 2023 under the current system.
The proposed change, which would also apply to the vice-president, will be submitted to legislators at the annual full session of the National People's Congress starting March 5.
Wow. This is interesting. This guy has been making major league power moves and now we see that he's making his grab.
I wondered why certain high ranking officers had been removed. Why certain businessmen had been arrested.
I thought it was an anti-corruption scheme.
I was wrong.
He was removing rivals. Getting rid of troublemakers. Setting the stage for this moment.
Many think that he's been reading Sun Tzu. I think they're wrong. This guy has been reading Machiavelli!
As far as the US is concerned this is bad news. My reading of Xi is that he is a true believer. He doesn't want China to be the world's super power. He demands it.
Yep. I am more convinced than ever that war between the US and China is inevitable. The only thing that could stop it is total capitulation by the US.
Assuming we don't cut and run then the only alternative is to get ready now.
Step number one. We've got to get our young people in shape. Fat shaming, high school PE courses, taxes on fast food (yep I went there) are just the beginning.
If we're gonna win this fight we have to be fit in 3 ways. Morally, physically and emotionally. Physical fitness is the easiest so we need to start there.
Play time is over. Xi and his horde is coming.

This gun fear insanity is even affecting rural areas. Allen Parish is South of Ft Polk (Soldiers in the audience will probably have passed thru it...bad hunting country) not far from Oakdale.
To say its the boonies is an understatement.
What kills me is the response by the school and Sheriff's Dept.
The people in this area wear hunting camo to church! You can throw a stick and hit a 4x4. You walk 10 feet and you're in a wooded area.
So why the reaction to a simple statement that the symbol for square root looks like a gun?
My only guess is that we're seeing an over reaction and an almost pavlovian desire to have another incident.
Still this is disappointing.
I expect this kind of craziness from California. I expect it from the idiots in New York or the loopies in the Northeast but here?
This country is broken.

Houthis use drone SWARM to destroy Patriot Missile Battery?

On February 23, an unnamed Yemeni officer told the Yemeni al-Masirah TV that the Yemeni Air Force and the Missile Forces [both allied with the Houthis] had conducted a joint operation and destroyed a MIM-104 Patriot PAC-3 air defense system and a headquarter of the UAE Army in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib.Story and vid here.
According to al-Masirah, Yemeni forces attacked the UAE Army Patriot PAC-3 system with “a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles [UAVs],” while the UAE Army headquarter was targeted with several ballistic missiles launched by the Yemeni Missile Forces.
The Saudi-led coalition immediately announced that its air defenses in Yemen had intercepted two ballistic missiles, which had been launched by the Houthis over the center of Ma’rib province. However, the collation didn’t report shooting down any UAVs of the Houthis.
We're back to the future.
These drone "swarms" are nothing but massed cruise missile attacks...just lower cost, slower speed, less powerful individually but many more of them....defense against small drones is gonna be tough.
I'm not talking about those that will be packed by infantry.
I'm talking about those that are dropped out the back of C-130 type aircraft that number in the thousands that each carry a grenade sized payload.
How do you keep 2,000 mini drones from wrecking your forward air field and obliterating your 150M dollar F-35B, much less the fuel/munitions depot and personnel?
In Louisiana we have highways masquerading as tank trails, in Michigan they have potholes acting like sinkholes!

The pic is from Jalopnick, an automotive mag, and they've been having a field day with the potholes in Michigan. In Detroit they have ongoing coverage of drivers literally blowing out their tires and busting wheels on a pothole. The local media has even gone out to film it.
But what you see above is an ABSOLUTE danger to life and limb. That law enforcement bubba is six three so that hole must be at least a couple of feet deep.
You're driving along and hit something like that?
Your car will literally flip end over end (if you're going fast enough) and if not then you will be kissing your air bag, hoping you haven't broken your nose or worse.
A couple of weeks ago I was gonna blog about a trip I had to make from Central Louisiana down to Baton Rouge. I took I-49 down but on the way back I decided to take the scenic route and go on Hwy 71.
About 5 miles outside a hamlet called LeBeau I ran into the worse road I've ever seen. It looked like a tank trail and the top speed of everyone (to include big rigs) was 25mph.
The road was so bad that even that was iffy.
Trump's instincts are right. We need to do something about our infrastructure nationwide. Enough with the foreign wars. If he's serious about making America great then he should SLAM thru his bill to rebuild America!

You want a consensus position on stopping mass shooting? Deal with the mentally ill!
Told you this was a die in the ditch issue and I'll pound this drum till my arms fall off.
Want to know what the American people think will solve the mass shooting problem? It's to deal with the mentally ill. Am I saying round them all up? No. I am saying that when a person starts making declarations to harm himself or others that its time that shit is taken seriously.
Want to know the other dirty secret? Polls have CONTINUOUSLY reflected this. You might have some CLOWNS in California or New York that want to subject the rest of the nation to their misery but we're not falling for that. Which is why they're attempting to NATIONALIZE the debate instead of going state by state. If they try a local movement they lose everytime, so they must IMPOSE this on the nation!

If you go inside the numbers you'll see the following. Vast majority of both democrats and Republicans think that mental health screening could have prevented this tragedy. Independents too.
Stricter gun laws? A majority of dems supported tougher laws while the vast majority of Republicans DID NOT!.
Let that sink in.
The dems own both coasts. The Republicans the center of the country.
Now think about where the most "intense" gun control laws currently are and compare that to the free states.
Yeah.
The slave states want to impose their rule over those that are free.
This isn't about safety this is about control!
