Syrian Army T-72's getting APS possible designation Sarab-2 (Mirage)

This should be disturbing for the armored community in the US Army and what remains of it in the USMC.
US vehicles don't have APS yet but its going live even on 3rd world vehicles. From what I've read we can't expect our armor to have active protection till the mid 2020's at best. Meanwhile the rest of the world isn't sitting still.
The armor race is real and we're losing it.

What's on my mind today? Well, I can't get over the public relations shenanigans that the USMC is playing with the public over news with regard to the F-35. The airplane suffered a midair fire in its weapons bay on Oct 27th and we only hear about late night the day before a contentious election?
That's bullshit and it was done on purpose. Its beneath the dignity of the old Corps but just the kinda thing I expect from the New Breed. Oh and make no mistake about it. I'm not talking about the Marines below the rank of Colonel. But I am pointing an accusatory finger at anyone wearing stars and many with eagles. HQMC needs a stand down for an ethics course. I'm not talking about legality. I'm talking about meeting the standards that we expect from Marine Corps leadership. You know old fashioned shit like having honesty and integrity. Not being so slavish to a piece of hardware that you shit can your morals.
Next I'm thrilled that Young Justice is coming back. The character development was fantastic. The Batman is perfect and I wonder why they can't get it right on the live action shows. I love Blue Beetle, Arsenal is crazy cool, and I want to see how Red Arrow and his lady love (Chesire?) workout. DC sucks at live action movies but until recently nailed it with their animation.
Last is the election.
The elite in the Republican Party are gonna try and go back to business as normal but we don't live in normal times. I think the Democrats are gonna face the same problem with the Bernie supporters. What no one is thinking about is what happens if Hillary fails...and make no mistake about it...she will fail horribly. What comes next? Will the next Trump and Bernie be even more extreme? More radical? We can expect illegal immigration to get worse. We can expect those professional degreed Whites to final feel the effects of the bad economy. We've set the stage for an American Hitler. I don't mean someone that will call for genocide of a particular race but for a person that will not only put American interests first but will probably be forced to seek a pound of flesh from real, imaginary and sometimes allies.
This was a consequential election in my opinion. Not because the first female will be elected but because she will fail so badly that the American people will be desperate for "strong" leadership.

USMC F-35 catches fire in midair during training flight.

WHY DOES DAVIS STILL HAVE A FUCKING JOB!!!!????? This is the second time that a major incident happened and he sat on his fat ass sucking his thumb. A Harrier crashed in the Pacific and the MARFORPAC General had to do a safety stand down. Here we have a F-35 catching fire and he does nothing.
Whose dick is he sucking and does he do it that well to keep his job? Dude must be porn star quality talented!
Regardless. This is a class A mishap and its another wakeup call. This plane ain't ready for primetime.
Side Note. Ya know I've been reading articles today about F-35 pilots talking about how the sensor fusion on this airplane make it unbeatable. Its not a coincidence. They make sure that before they release bad news about this airplane that they get their whores in the defense media to write puff pieces about it. Its gone from obvious to comical. This story happened on Oct 27, yet we're hearing about it late night before the Presidential election? You don't think this was timed to go unnoticed? Are you really that gullible?

The Marine Corps is investigating after an F-35B Joint Strike Fighter based out of Beaufort, South Carolina, recently caught fire in mid-air, Military.com has learned.
The incident happened Oct. 27 at Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, a fleet replacement squadron for the Marine Corps consisting of 20 F-35B aircraft. One of the aircraft experienced a fire in the weapons bay while conducting a training mission over Beaufort, 1st Lt. John Roberts, a spokesman for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, told Military.com.
"The aircraft landed safely and there were no injuries sustained," he said. "An investigation is ongoing and we will provide updates as they are available."
No estimate of damage caused by the fire was available. The incident was listed by the Naval Safety Center as a Class A mishap, meaning damage totalled $2 million or more on the $100 million aircraft.
The squadron didn't observe any kind of grounding or operational pause as a result of the mishap, Roberts said.

The Creepy Legend of the Ourang Medan

In February 1948, distress calls were picked up by numerous ships near Indonesia from the Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan, which was passing through the Straits of Malacca. The chilling message was, “All officers including captain are dead lying in chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead.” This message was followed by indecipherable Morse code then one final grisly message… “I die.”
When the first rescue vessel, the American merchant ship Silver Star arrived on the scene a few hours later, they tried to hail the Ourang Medan but there was no response to their hand and whistle signals. A boarding party was sent to the ship and what they found was a frightening sight that has made the Ourang Medan one of the strangest and scariest ghost ship stories of all time. All the crew and officers of the Ourang Medan were dead, their eyes open, faces looking towards the sun, arms outstretched and a look of terror on their faces. Even the ship’s dog was dead, found snarling at some unseen enemy. When nearing the bodies in the boiler room, the rescue crew felt a chill though the temperature was near 110°F.
The decision was made to tow the ship back to port but before they could get underway, smoke began rolling up from the hull. The rescue crew left the ship and barely had time to cut the tow lines before the Ourang Medan exploded and sank.
