Gun rights people are sometimes their own worst enemy...

Just wow.

Talk about totally misplaying an issue.  My opinion of course but let me lay it out.

The Governor of Virginia is trying to impose draconian anti-gun laws (is there any other kind...not sure but that's a different discussion).  In response, gun rights folks have used local govt to institute "sanctuary" cities for guns.

That's beyond awesome (in my opinion) because its in essence hoisting anti-gunners on their own petard.

That's the good.

The bad?

This rally.

Not the rally itself, but the way gun rights folks are showing up to it.  Arriving in casual dress to protest the decision is one thing.  Showing up like you're about to go to war is something else entirely.

Some of the jokers I'm seeing is just plain sad.  Warrior wallet but without putting in the work of crushing it in the gym?  That probably indicates the range time they're doing too.

Are they engaged in a lifestyle, a hobby or just symbolism?

I'm personally leaning toward symbolism and a chance to show toys.  Long story short?  They're doing it wrong.  They're not taking this seriously and thinking things thru.  They're doing more to harm the cause than to push the agenda.

That's how I see it and I'm a pro gun guy.  What do you think?

Well deserved, I just hate the break with naming convention & the false symbolism...

This is well deserved.  On this point it's full stop.

What I have an issue with is the Navy's psycho naming convention they've adopted.  They're all over the place.  Politics has entered the thing and to name a warship after a congress person that was shot or other members of congress or even civil rights leaders is a box that we shouldn't have allowed to be opened...soon we're gonna have a hodgepodge of ships that have no lineage, no history and divide the public.  An outrageous example?  To certain segments of the population the Oklahoma City Bomber is a hero.  What happens if we devolve to a point where that portion of the population gets to be represented with the naming of a ship?

The other issue I have is with the false symbolism of this move.  A black American is a war hero but you have to link it with Dr King's birthday?

In my opinion that's bad form...one tiny step away from pandering.  This dude deserves much better.  You don't treat a pure dee stud this way.  He should get his own time in the sun without any linkage.

So we have a good thing that's somewhat tarnished because of poor decisions (in my opinion) in the past, mixed with symbolism (in my opinion) currently.

Great stuff bad form.  I'm still happy.  I'm pleased with this well deserved honor, but I don't like the backdrop that's around it.

This is my opinion and you're welcome to disagree.

Chinese Type 04 IFV is HUGE compared to the Chinese Type 96 MBT...

Can you see the size difference?  This is going to become a problem that has to be addressed going into the future.  How do you combat size signature on a modern battlefield?  The larger you are the easier it is to see you.  IFVs across the board are getting bigger as the need to provide both the volume to carry an overburdened infantry AND protect the occupants increases.

Do we need to adopt smaller but more numerous vehicles?  Do we adjust the iron triangle and put a bigger emphasis on mobility?  Do we accept the current meta and seek to increase protection thru other means (APS)?

I don't know but when you have IFVs that are larger than MBTs then its obvious that something will have to give.

KF41 Lynx Modularity?

Interesting but not exactly revolutionary.  Everyone is all gaga over modularity but I have yet to see it actually practiced by ANY military force on the planet. Almost EVERY vehicle is mission specific and modularity comes from simply flexing a vehicle into a new need.

It's a great sales pitch but in reality its simply just another gimmick.

Space Force is getting camo uniforms?

Don't quite get this Space Force.  Seems like they're basically falling in under the USAF, and this uniform is a joke.  Space bro!  You don't need multicam in space?  MAYBE multicam black but not woodland or arid or whatever they call this!

Anyone have better info on this thing?  Is it actually the 6th service or is it a pumped up command that gets a seat at the table?

Thoughts? I'm thinking double tap, head and then to the pelvic girdle...

Sad.

I'm thinking a double tap, head shot and then to the pelvic girdle!  Just kidding.  The above statement does not reflect my thinking if actually involved in such an incident.

Good on Boeing for getting back on track.  One thing about this tech though.  Looks bulky.  Looks aren't everything but it seems a bit unwieldy.
