Thailand's crazy mix of armored vehicles...

Army Recognition has done an analysis of their armored vehicles and I'm glad they did.  Talk about a country that has bought stuff from ALL OVER the place!

I would think that they need to rationalize their vehicle purchases just for maintenance reasons but who knows?

Follow the link to check out a few more pics and marvel at the mix of vehicles.

Russian Ground Forces in Siberia to receive Typhoon-K armoured vehicles

via Shepard Media.
The Russian MoD plans to add a batch of eight Typhoon-K armoured vehicles, armed with a remote-controlled weapon station, to the fleet of combat vehicles of its ground forces in Siberia.

According to the 20 January announcement, the vehicles will be delivered this year to the reconnaissance unit of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District, stationed in the Novosibirsk region.

Currently, drivers are being trained and, according to the Russian MoD, they will soon conduct a run-in of the new equipment.

The Typhoon-K is designed to transport troops and provides high protection to the crew, cargo and vehicle components from small arms of up to 30mm in calibre as well as mines and land mines.

The armoured module is equipped with gun ports for firing small arms, and it can also be installed with remote-controlled weapons. The vehicle has a high cross-country capability due to the 6x6 wheel configuration, and its maximum speed is 105km/h.

The Typhoon-K (Taifun-K) is part of the Taifun family of mine-resistant armoured vehicles manufactured by Kamaz subsidiary Remdiesel. The family utilises several common components and features a V-shaped armoured hull designed to withstand small-arms fire, mines and IEDs.

The V-shaped hull is constructed from an inner layer of welded-steel armour and outer layer of composite armour. In terms of blast protection, the hull fulfils NATO Standardization Agreement Level 3b requirements, meaning that it can withstand a blast equivalent to 8kg of TNT underneath the hull.

Are you f*cking kidding me? Now protesters and police are clashing in Wuhan! (UPDATED - Tweet from person claiming to be a doctor in Wuhan)

This is insanity on steroids now.

Protesters and police are clashing in Wuhan?!  No one is wearing masks or other protective gear?

We're getting to the point where we really will need to nuke this site from orbit.

Can the Chinese keep this thing contained?

I have my doubts now.

I was looking for something to slow the Chinese down so that our military could reorient to the threat.  Either God, the Devil, fate or simple bad luck seems to have struck and we've got our chance.

Another thing.

The world economy was already decoupling from Globalization.  This COULD speed that along if the outbreak gets bad enough.  As a matter of fact if this thing turns into a "wildfire" event then we could see global trade ground to a halt.

That would fire up the US economy and FORCE domestic production.

Danger if properly managed can lead to opportunity.  Let's hope the powers that be in the US/West can manage this thing to a positive outcome.

UPDATE!

If this tweet is true then China is looking at a terrible situation.  I tend to believe it based on the statement from the Chinese President.  Oh and consider this.  In their culture and style of governance, if the Chinese President is saying this publicly then its EVEN WORSE than he's stating.

Next-generation of combat: U.S. Army modernizing the Bradley

Thanks to PitchBlackUniverse for the link!

Story here.

The US Army has a decision to make.  Either continue this upgrade or say enough and simply slap an RWS on the AMPV.

I'm betting the latter is the choice in the end.  We'll see but the budget wars are real.

Sidenote.  That suspension setup looks BOSS!

Mad Max World In China...Chinese resorting to bribery to get treated first...

Are these random pics/videos or are we seeing a truth that they (the Chinese govt) don't want the world to see.

Side note.  This blog has been hit with spam recently and a check of the IP address indicates that its from Hong Kong!  Can't explain that because HK is going thru its own troubles but it is what it is...

Must See Video! China's Coronavirus is Much Worse Than You Think

Thanks to UtahBob for the link!

Operative term.  WET MARKET.

Operative term.  Authoritarian Govt.

Operative term.  Social Order.

The Chinese will be lucky to get this thing under control.  Oh and one last point.

They're blaming us.  The USA for their mess.  Pathetic.

Didn't see this coming....Hyundai Rotem favored to land $9 bil. tank deal with Poland

Story here.

This is HUGE!  I really didn't see this coming.  Poland strikes me as being one of those countries that desires a few things.  Quality gear.  Affordability.  A strong home market.

Have the Koreans cracked the code on that?  At least when it comes to armored vehicles it certainly is looking like it.  The K-9 Thunder is taking over when it comes to tracked self propelled guns.  This deal will open up many doors.  Plus they have a couple of interesting wheeled vehicles coming out.

Don't sleep on the Koreans.

When the North and South reunite (and they will inevitably reunite) they're gonna be a power to behold .
