This right here is why I think everyone should chill out for a moment.

Whether your guy won (Biden) or your guy lost (Trump) one thing is clear.

This was a close election.  The worst thing that can happen is for agendas to be pushed during times like this.

Want to see chaos continue?

Have Biden push forward an agenda thru bare majorities in the Congress or even worse thru Presidential Order and watch it all go away in the next two years.

Can you imagine a decade of that type of back and forth?

I can.

What would result?

Even more tumultuous elections.  Even more violence in the streets.  This is a time for cooler heads to prevail and for consensus to be built.  Do something with covid (we now have 7 strains in the US) and fix the economy. That's it!  Everything else can wait.

CHILL OUT FOLKS!  But it won't happen so pass the popcorn.

Fight Now: III MEF's Warfighting Concept

One thing kinda has me spinning on this.  They're trying so hard to wed themselves to the past...the Marine Corps is America's Crisis Response Force...when in reality it appears that the new Marine Corps will not be capable of performing that mission.

Watch that video and you'll see a ton of naval aviator wings, you'll hear talk of HIMARS, you'll see even an emphasis on logistics.

They pay homage to the "individual Marine" being important.  But never once do you hear "every Marine a rifleman".

You see a few clips of AAVs but like I've said before they don't appear to fit with this new concept.  

As much as I dislike the cutting of tanks, at least it was relatively quick.  They should do the same with the rest of the force.

No long goodbyes just a quick culling.

Make a clean break with the past and chart this new course with this new Marine Corps.

 Trump got off but McConnell doesn't seem happy about it.

The Congressional part of the Trump saga has come to an end.  I'm sure there will be democrat attorney generals that will still seek his scalp but the major league stuff is behind him (I fully expect national leaders to tell the locals to knock it off with the hope that he'll go home and deal with civil lawsuits...more than a few will be coming from injured Capitol Police Officers).

But let's rewind the tape and speculate.

Let's get rugged and raw with it.

What do you think would have happened if the rioters had gotten to Pelosi, Pence and Schumer?

Despite the opinion of many of my readers I believe we would have seen public executions.  I think that mob would have torn them apart.  I think some of the racists elements would have done terrible things to minority representatives.

I think more than a few women congress people would have been ravaged.

But that's me.

What do you think?  Yeah we're playing a big "WHAT IF?" but I'd like to know how you think it would have played out if the congress critters hadn't evacuated in time.

Addendum.  I did not forget about the security detail.  To the contrary I'm guessing that they would have stacked many bodies before they let the mob get to the congressmen.  That's why I'm so certain that the congress people would have been brutalized beyond description.  Revenge for the fallen and all that stuff.

Politics Talk. Trump Impeachment - the defense strikes back

 Just a few thoughts on the Trump Impeachment - the defense.

I've been impressed.  It was rugged and raw but they juxtaposed the talk of Democrat leaders during the riots with what Trump said on Jan 6.

To say that it was chilling is an understatement.

Make no mistake.  I've never defended the riots during the summer (I DID DEFEND the protests...there is a difference for all the "heil hitlers" in the crowd). But to see what leading democrats were saying was eye opening.

Additionally the storming of the capitol is a special kind of evil.  Burning cities is bad, but in my opinion storming the seat of our nation is worse.

We'll see what we'll see.  I'll be monitoring the rest of this thing.
