Poland buys the Poprady Anti-Air System..

The Polish Armaments Group, to which PIT-Radwar belongs, has informed the army of the first Poprad missile system this year on 16 March . Neither PGZ nor the army reveal which unit the weapon has been sent to. However, it is known that this is not the last delivery. In total, by the end of the year, soldiers will receive 24 copies of sets. This is the result of a contract signed by the Ministry of Defense in December 2015 . Pursuant to the agreement, the value of which is over PLN 1 billion, the Polish manufacturer will hand over a total of 77 Poprad sets to the armed forces. Deliveries began two years ago and will end next year.

N. Korea fires multiple short range anti-ship missiles into the East Sea...

North Korea fired a salvo of short-range projectiles believed to be anti-ship cruise missiles into the East Sea on Tuesday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.

The firings came on the eve of the birthday of late founder Kim Il-sung and South Korea's general elections.

The projectiles, assumed to be surface-to-ship cruise missiles, were fired northeastward from areas near its eastern coastal town of Munchon at around 7 a.m., which lasted more than 40 minutes, the JCS said, adding they flew around 150 kilometers before splashing into waters off the east coast.

"The military is closely monitoring the situation for possible additional launches, while maintaining a readiness posture," the JCS said in a release.

It is the latest in a series of military actions by the North as the regime has sought to beef up defense capabilities amid stalled denuclearization talks with the United States and heightened vigilance against the coronavirus.

I wonder how they're doing with their coronavirus cases? China at one time was asking for sanctions to be relaxed because they feared a humanitarian crisis there, but that's taken a back seat with them trying to repair their image with the world.

Most of the world (with the exception of Libya) seems to be trying to concentrate on the global crisis.

But I forgot about N. Korea.

This is the type of thing that could push them into some type of foolish action.

Don't have enough visibility (but I'll start trying to watch) to be sure but they could initiate some incident to distract their population from the INCREASED suffering this pandemic is probably placing on them.

Starving. Continuously cold. Probably exposed to the elements on a regular basis.

UAE buys Israeli Iron Dome to shoot down Turkish drones...

The UAE has purchased an “advanced” Israeli air-defense system to shoot down Turkish combat drones operating in Libya, the New Arab reported on April 10.

According to the London-based outlet, the system was bought from an Israeli defense company and then shipped directly to Egypt. Officers of the Libyan National Army (LNA) are allegedly training on the system there.

The New Arab said the UAE purchased the unidentified system to “save” the LNA’s attack on the capital, Tripoli. The outlet claimed that the LNA sustained catastrophic losses in recent Turkish drone strikes.

While it remains unclear if the LNA is using Israeli weapons, the use of such weapons by Turkish forces in Libya and their ally, the Government of National Accord (GNA), is well-documented.

Last July, the LNA shot down two Israeli-made Orbiter-3 tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the town of al-ʿAziziyah south of the country’s capital, Tripoli. The Jerusalem Post revealed later that the UAVs were part of a three-unit donated by Turkey to pro-GNA forces.
Earlier this month, LNA forces uncovered the wreckage of an IAI Harop loitering munition near the village of Hamada in eastern Libya. The munition was produced by Israel Aerospace Industries in Azerbaijan and exported to Turkey.

Ok gents. Consider this a heads up. The regional war that's been blazing in the Middle East is about to get hot in a new sector.

The action I believe is moving from Syria (which I expect to settle back down into a RELATIVELY stabilized stalemate with occasional fighting) over to Libya which will be the main attraction.

You have more players in that theater. You have many more crossed agendas. Lastly you have the oil.

Don't know if it is right but damn, that bad boy looks right. This is the danger for the Marine Corps.

By turning itself into a pure defense force, its not making itself useful for the MOST LIKELY conflicts going into the future.

What did we see with the USSR? Proxy wars all over the globe. We saw our forces fighting USSR proxies. What happens if the Russians start sending a few of these to hostile nations and our Marine Corps has to face them in the configuration planned?

No armor. Fewer Attack Helos. Fewer cannons. More ship killing missiles.

As a forcible entry force the Marine Corps is done. It's hung up a "closed for business" sign on that operational art. Engaging in ground combat? The closed for business sign isn't up but it sure looks like the "we don't want to do that anymore" neon sign is hanging.

The terrible thing?

The Marine Corps was eaten alive by the Air Wing. The Marine Corps solution to being consumed alive? To bet more on the Air Wing....a different composition but still a huge bet on air power.

What happens when our enemies get wise and decide to invest heavily in anti-air complexes? What happens when advancement make S-400's look like old hat? When lasers arrive and can incinerate UAVs like moths to a flame?

The Commandant talks about assuming risk? Naw bro. He's making a huge ass gamble with the fate of the nation on a jacked up war game.
