DEFTECH - Malaysia AV8 Gempita 8X8 Multi-Role Wheeled Armoured Vehicle

Patria rolls out latest AMV XP

M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle crew shoots the vehicle’s M242 Bushmaster 25mm Chain Gun during gunnery training at the Doña Ana Range Complex

Wow.

I don't know which way the  Army is going with the Bradley but forget survivability upgrades (for the moment).  This puppy needs a lethality upgrade!

25mm cannons are so last century.  Not sure if a 30, 35 or 40 makes sense but as things stand we're not keeping up with the competition.

My guess?

Go with the 30mm.  Quick and easy upgrade.  Tons of munition choices.  Should be affordable.

Will it provide overmatch?

Nope, but at least we'll be in the game.

Space Force. A Combatant Command or a New Service???

I personally don't get it.

I thought the US was all against weaponizing space (yeah I know its already being done by others AND us).  But ignoring the "visuals" I don't understand if a Combatant Command (as in Northern, Southern or CENTCOM) is being created or a new service.

Anyone KNOW the real deal?

Sidenote.  The Recruiting Trail is gonna become even more brutal if this new Space Force takes in enlistees from the street.  The Marine Corps is losing its luster, the Navy is the Navy, the Air Force was geek heaven and will lose its claim to fame and the Army is just hurting.  The Space Force will WRECK the rest of the services.

No 1435 Flight Typhoon FGR4

Pictured is a 1435 Flight Typhoon FGR4 flying over West Falkland island during a routine training flight.

No 1435 Flight with their Typhoon FGR4's are currently based at Mount Pleasant

The most recent purpose-built airfield in the RAF, Mount Pleasant was opened in 1985 to establish a fighter and transport presence in the Islands. The RAF provides key elements of the forces that Headquarters British Forces South Atlantic Islands use to ensure the security of the Falklands, the South Sandwich Islands and South Georgia.
Not only through the air bridge from RAF Brize Norton to Ascension Island and onwards to the Falkland Islands, but also through deterrence patrols across the immense area between the islands.

Singapore is critically vulnerable...

When Singapore's defense leadership wakes up in the morning what are they thinking about?  Check this out from Senang Diri Blog (YOU SHOULD FOLLOW HIM!)...
Amazing isn't it?

Singapore island, aka the Little Red Dot, seen from the perspective of the Singapore Army's crack Red Lions Commando parachute display team. This photo mozaic was stitched together from a video that shows the commandos rehearsing for this evening's 53rd National Day celebrations in Singapore.

On the far right (east) of the landmass is Changi. To the left (west) is Jurong and Tuas, with Pandan Reservoir visible as the glistening patch near the top left. The green patch of the central catchment area with the freshwater reservoirs can also be seen.

From east to west, about 50km. North to south, a mere 22km.

You are looking at the most densely defended country in Southeast Asia. Within the field of view of the Red Lions, the city-state has the:
Most number of armoured fighting vehicles in Southeast Asia.

Heaviest concentration of tube and rocket artillery.

Biggest number of combat engineer bridging rafts.

Deepest underground ammunition depot.

Largest fleet of fast landing craft.

Extensive naval sealift.

More combat warplanes, hunter-killer submarines and MBT types than the neighbours.

Region's highest density of SAMs.

Neighbourhood's only counter rocket artillery and mortar (C-RAM) system.

Unrivalled military training arrangements globally.

And yet, critically vulnerable. See for yourself:
No strategic depth.

A currency backed by no natural resources.

Open border with the home shore minutes away from the world's busiest sea lane.

Exposed to artillery, special forces and rapid deployment parachute forces.

Lack of economic hinterland.

High density of ageing population.

Virtually no room to manoeuvre on home ground.

Heavy reliance on open access to sea and air trade routes.

Your back towards the sea any way you face.

Sleep well at night?

Many of us do, blissfully unaware of Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team units serving as the city-state's sentinels whose sensors watch above and beyond the border, and can see beyond the obvious.

We thank them all. :-)
When I first started reading this all I could think is here we go..another chest thumping rundown of weapon system Singapore has.

But then I read the rest and it became clear.

Singapore is "militarized" for a reason.  I never realized they were that exposed.

Saying City State is easy.

Realizing the implications of that are a totally different kettle of fish.

Now I understand how they're thinking.  Now I understand the rationale behind their defense purchases and policies.

In Country | Talon Spear (Must See!)

The Marines put out two videos today.  This one and another.  This video is what I want to see!  The other?  I had to bleach my brain because it was mind numbing, wall pounding piece of cow shit on a cracker.

How could a service that was once claimed to have the best propaganda in the US military have fallen so far?

Enough of the virtue signalling!  Back to the warfighting!  More vids like this please!
