Well that didn't go as planned + what is a razvedchiki?

13th MEU BLT ACVs Conduct Range 400

Kinda curious why they haven't re-worked the ranges at 29 Palms. They fit the mold of the old Marine Corps but don't seem suitable at all to distributed operations. Quite honestly the current framework doesn't do the job at all. They're gonna have to spend big money to sweep and clean them. Then they're gonna have to expand each one....BIG TIME. Additionally I don't get the work on urban warfare. SIF/EABO is much too light to conduct any type of urban warfare. Too light for any type of mech warfare too. No one is talking about it but this formation appears to be vulnerable to motorized/mechanized/armored conventional forces. It truly is a one trick pony.

Rheinmetall Lynx IFV hits with Spike ATGM

Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct Mine Clearing Line Charge @ Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms,

OK. I get it. The Assault Breacher Vehicle is out. So why use one of a few ACVs in this role?

I thought the US Army would provide armor when needed? Why not have an Armored unit practice this if that's whats gonna happen during a real deal war? Integration with the Navy is all the rage in HQMC. The way the Marine Corps has stripped itself of combat power it might be wise to start "integrating" with the Army...especially in light of lost capabilities.

One pacing foe.

One clime one place.

Sounds good on paper but as they said during the "talk" on FD2030, we didn't intervene in Ukraine (with boots on the ground) because Russia is a nuclear power. Why is it assumed that we would if China made a move on Taiwan? This concept will make the Marine Corps obsolete. They bet the entire future on a recon/counter recon concept that is akin to sending men where you should send robots.  Armed UAVs that simply ask for overflight permission will better perform that job.  Additionally if ANYONE can do it then its not unique and will not ensure the Marine Corps future.

1st Portuguese AF KC390 Millennium

SOCOM just found their next medium range "penetrator" to conduct air drops/resupply of their units. Maybe a next gen refueller for CV-22?

WTF is going on in Holland!

Wow!!! Govts in Europe better get ahead of this or this WILL spread! Global chaos is here! Comments are all talking about "Agenda 21" (thought that was just a fevered internet meme) and saying that the govt is getting ready to go after bank accounts. Noted! Time to keep a bit more cash on hand!

Random acts of crime....

Notice how casual this is. How calm the killer is. Dude never stood a chance. He was out drinking, his buddy left him at the bar and this guy was clocking him the whole time. This is why I rant at open carry people. You're advertising that you have a firearm and you're setting yourself up to be ambushed so your weapon can be stolen or worse.

Two teenagers at the gym I workout at signed up for the Marines. I'm a bit disturbed.

Two teenagers at the gym I workout at signed up for the Marines and I'm a bit disturbed.

I don't know them personally, only in passing.  My conversations with them has been about the Marines (tatoos - sticker etc..), my work, and ALOT about workout advice.

Now they've gone and done this.  I imagine there are worse things but when I asked what their MOS would be they both said 0311.

I don't like the direction the "new" Marine Corps is headed and I'm beyond tempted to tell them to bail.  If they want adventure they'd be better served going Airborne/Ranger.

What has me spun is if I played any role in them making this decision.  They're not gonna like what they're getting into.  They're being sold the Marine Corps past, not its future.

What say ya'll. Should I give them my opinion and tell them to steer clear or sit back and wait for them to come back bitter as hell?

Sri Lanka has less than a day’s worth of fuel remains, says the energy minister...We Are Entering A Stage Of Global Chaos

 via Al-Jazeera

Sri Lanka has less than a day’s worth of fuel left, the energy minister says, with public transport grinding to a halt as the country’s economic crisis deepens.

Power and energy minister Kanchana Wijesekera on Sunday said petrol reserves were about 4,000 tonnes, just below one day’s worth of consumption, as queues snaked through the main city of Colombo for kilometres.

Global Chaos here we come.  We're about to see mayhem sprout up all over the world and I'm not sure the US military is ready.

The focus has been on Ukraine to such a degree that I believe we're ahead of the Pentagon curve just using open source info (and the network of readers here!).

What happens when our weak and feeble leadership is forced to chew gum and walk at the same time?

I'm not sure but so far they've failed when it comes to solving problems within their own borders.  I have no confidence they'll do better in helping small poor countries teetering on the edge.

The South Korean Marine Corps is developing the KAAV-2 (think EFV!).

Is it just me or does it seem like the S. Koreans and Japanese consider each other the pacing threat? If I recall correctly the USMC is teaming with the Japanese for a high speed troops transport/assault vehicle (don't know if that requirement remains with Berger's Missile/Defense/Base Security framework).
