SuperAV and other armor from the Army Maneuver Conference 2013 via Grunts and Co.

Check out Grunts and Co. Blog (note pics are from his site).

Stryker Testbed with the Kongsberg 30mm RWS.

SuperAV...GOD! The Marine Corps needs this vehicle!

For some reason they rolled out the XM8.  I guess the 82nd is serious about bringing back airborne tanks.

  1. I never understood why the Para's didn't grab the M-8 up as fast as they shed the M-551 a wheeled system would do unless they expect to jump over an enemy airfield and hold it while MAC lands their Armor or create an airfield at the drop zones with marston mats the assault guns will not make it in if they are too large.
I recall those Airborne tanks of WW2 designed to land in huge gliders.
I also recall the plans to put wings on tanks and fly them to battle, yup I bet the treadheads went ape shat over that brilliant idea!

    1. not exactly sure but i think the Stryker Double VeeHull (DVH) gained that armor package in the upgrade. i don't like that 30mm RWS from Kongsberg. too tall. there are lower profile offerings out there from Elbit and others that perform just as well.

  3. An Airborne Tank would be used to support Infantry on the ground
