Leaving your unit 101...

Watching the media twist and turn in an attempt to minimize Bergdahl's actions.  Its not working guys and here's why...consider it a "leaving your unit without permission" 101...

If you leave your unit without permission stateside...and you're gone more than 30 days...its called AWOL (or whatever they call it today)....If you leave your unit without permission in a warzone then its called desertion and its punishable by death.

Bergdahl deserted.

You can twist, turn, equivocate, spin and basically lie but it is what it is.

This bastard needs to burn.  Fuck his five years of captivity.  He did that to himself.  If anyone needs to be made an example of its Bergdahl...oh and remember this.  We've seen Marines burned for alot less.

  2. It won't make any difference if he walks or not. At the end of the day, he will need 24-hours security detail. Someone, someday will one day walk up to him and stick a knife through his chest in the name of one of the six who died (and countless others).

I am not sure if anyone has ever thought about this, but if he does walk free, he's is a SECURITY THREAT. No one knows how "radical" he's been.

I'm even thinking, he's going to get first-class medical care (courtesy of Uncle Sam) and then he'll disappear. Next thing you know, he'll appear in an Al Jazerra interview somewhere in Afganistan. Alive, well AND VERY HEALTHY.

    1. you know what. i never considered that. if the US Army pardons this guy and says that he's been punished enough because he was stupid, then someone, somewhere will want payback.

this son of a bitch is a dead man walking...he just doesn't know it.

    2. Sol, forgive me if you've already covered this, I've been out a while... But is anyone talking about the 5 assholes that we let go? How we negotiated with terrorists? And more specifically, what time, resources, and American and Allied lives were spent in capturing said assholes?? And all this time Sgt. Tahmooressi is on a seemingly growing list of Marines getting arrested and rotting in mexico...

As far as Bergdahl... what you said above covers it.

    3. Robert Garwood the former POW or Ex deserter traitor is now 68 years old they have made a couple movies about him one starring......Ralph Macchio and...Martin Sheen. Four books on Garwood were written and published.
Private First Class Garwood was convicted on February 5, 1981 of communicating with the enemy and assault of an American prisoner of war interred in a POW camp, in violation of Articles 104 and 128, Uniform Code of Military Justice. The court-martial sentenced Garwood to reduction to private, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a dishonorable discharge. He was not sentenced to confinement. His conviction was upheld on appeal. United States v. Robert R. Garwood, 16 M.J. 863 (N.C.M.R. 1983), aff'd, 20 M.J. 148 (C.M.A. 1985). His record of trial covered 16 volumes and 3,833 pages of trial record. As a result, Garwood forfeited all back pay and veteran's benefits.
In 1999 he lived in Mississippi near Pascaguola.

  3. I'm thinking Bergdahl would make happy feet right back to Afagistan if released or Dearborn for that matter.
I don't believe anyone went after Gary Garwood, nor any Korean cross over's, but I could be wrong.
The democrats will look after him for sure, the Secretary of State he is, and after that POTUS!

  5. From what I've read, he needs to be charged with desertion (in wartime) with the death penalty on the table. His back pay needs to be held until the trial is over, if he is found guilty, no back pay for him.
The US ARMY needs to file the charges and if the POTUS wants to intervene -- make the POTUS do so himself.

  6. bergdahl is a fucking coward and a plant to see if he can get away with killing some more of our warriors in a "work place violence" bunch of hogwash that numbnuts calls it. His old man is every bit as bad as he is. Kick both their asses out of the country.......penniless.

  7. They'll Med Board him and try to quietly get him out the door. He'll get 100% disability while my Soldiers, you know, guys who did their duty on multiple deployments, fight the VA just to be screened and then have to defend their coverage for little things like amputations or TBI from IED number 30+.

If he's smart, he'll go to ground and stay out of sight for a few years.
