Patricia Smith, mother of Benghazi victim (vid)

Thanks to BaneBlade for the link!

If this doesn't make you a bit misty then you have no heart.  This was the most powerful speech of the night.  I didn't appreciate the clowns that shouted from the floor and her ending wasn't the best but damn!  This was a heart stomper of a speech.

Trump is an ego maniac.  He is a self centered bastard that can't get out of his own way.  He's playing with racial divisions just like the rest and even with all of those flaws and many more he's still better than Hillary.

We're fucked.

Can you drive your AR like this?

Can you drive your AR like this?  I can't.  But I will!

The crazy thing?

I thought he had to be using a bump fire stock to make his rifle sing like that. Nope, just a plain jane BCM carbine.  Just wow.

Side note:  This is another example of "mil spec" or better stated "using what the active duty guys are using" puts you behind the curve.  Like I told a person in the comments I heard of these triggers but really thought they were just a fad.  You've seen all the gear that's hit the market that is only designed to separate you from your money.  I wonder why we aren't hearing SOCOM, FAST Co, big city SWAT, Federal Law Enforcement (especially US Marshals, FBI HRT) or any of the other close quarter specialist rocking these triggers?  I'm still researching them but I haven't seen anything questioning their durability.

Good God. This mother of a Benghazi victim is getting to me...

Watching the Republican National Convention and its been the usual boilerplate.

Then they rolled out the mother of a Benghazi victim.

Damn!

Hearing the pain and anguish in her voice is the most powerful political speech I've heard in a long time.

You'll see snippets of her speech but I'll try and post a vid here later tonight.  If it doesn't make you somewhat misty then you have no heart.

N. Korea fires 3 ballistic missiles!

Thanks to William for the link!

Yonohap News is reporting the launch of 3 N. Korean ballistic missiles.  That's it.  No response by our govt or the S. Koreans.

The world continues to burn.  Don't try and put out the fire folks...just pull up your camp chair, get out the hot dogs and enjoy the show.

German train 'axe attack'...Society in the West begins to collapse.

Thanks to EnFraggle for the link!

via BBC
More than 20 people in Germany have been injured after a man with an axe went on the rampage on a train, German media report.
A police operation including a helicopter is under way in Heidingsfeld, a part of the city of Wurzburg in southern Germany.
Local media (in German) wrote that 21 people had been injured and a suspect appeared to have been shot.
The train line between Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld and Ochsenfurt is closed.
The German news agency DPA reported that the police said some of the victims' injuries were life-threatening.
More to come.

Baton Rouge Shooter was rocking an IWI Tavor and XD!

I'm stepping out of the politics of this thing and am only going to look at the tactics used by police and the shooter.

Listening to a press conference by the State Police Commandant here in Louisiana, he stated that the shooter used an IWI Tavor and Springfield XD.

The scary thing about those choices?

It sounds like what I would use if I needed a truck gun if I needed to engage from a vehicle and the XD is known for having a hefty little magazine capacity.

This guy chose well when it came to weapons selection.

Additionally I've checked out his pages and he was a fitness geek.  Not only did he work out but he even advised others on the subject.

Police are going to have to up there game.  I don't know how they do it but they're being engaged by people with military knowledge and are fit.  Range time, time at the gym, getting that nutrition right...that's the basics if you want to stand a chance for survival.

Listening to the State Police Commandant one other thing is obvious.  They've got to up their tactics.  Oh and Baton Rouge SWAT put the shooter down.  A sniper engaged him from 100 yards away.  In an urban area with a fleeting target that's not bad.  The Sheriff commented on how well the shooter moved and the determination in his actions.

Law Enforcement is not ready for this new breed of criminal.  These new jacks are tactically proficient, in good shape, have the basics of fire and maneuver down cold and kill with a heart of stone.  I say again.  Law Enforcement MUST UP ITS GAME!

Fat Cops cannot cope with these new criminals.
Side note:  If you call yourself a gun guy and you're over 35 and don't work out everyday then you're a fraud.  If you have weapons stacked to the ceiling
but get out of breath walking across the street then you're a fraud.  You're only a supply point.

Could the US be facing a "low grade Insurgency"?

Thanks to BaneBlade for the idea!

"Insurgency is best defined as an organized movement aimed at the overthrow or destruction of a constituted government through the use of subversion, espionage, terrorism and armed conflict… Terrorism is not an end in itself.Jun 11, 2008
I personally think that the above definition is wrong.  An insurgency does NOT necessarily have to be an organized movement.  It is enough for a percentage of like minded people in a nation thinking and acting in concert OR supporting those that are active for an insurgency to grow.

Consider what we've seen over the course of the last couple of days.  Everyone remembers Dallas.  Then we've seen numerous assaults across the country against police ending with today's drama in Baton Rouge.

Check out what the President had to say about things today.

Did you check out the vid?  Did you notice no talk about gun control?  Did you hear the appeal to "come together"?  Have you taken note of what many will call concern but I call almost fear in the voice?

Call me tin hattish, but something has changed.  I don't know what it is.  I have no access to whatever intel the Feds have but I am seeing real concern here.

Remember your history.  In most insurgency's the first victims are locals.  Police, School Teacher, Councilmen etc....whoever is seen as being connected to the govt are usually the first targets.  That's where McVeigh went wrong.  He targeted the Federal Govt instead of attacking low hanging fruit.

Are we seeing the beginning of an insurgency?  I doubt it.  Are we seeing the beginning of some serious assaults on police?  Yeah.  I'm betting on it.  Consider all the various groups that have yet to go active.  Sovereign Citizens, Black and White Separatists, Militia Groups and Mexican drug cartels....I didn't even touch on ISIS or Al Qaeda yet!

2016 is going to be historic....I can't wait for this year to end.  We need a break from interesting times.

Side note:  What do you call an old, fat, out of shape prepper?  A supply point!

2016.  The year that keeps on giving.

BREAKING! 3 Police Officers shot in Baton Rouge, LA UPDATED! 7 Officers shot, 4 confirmed killed

WATCH LIVE COVERAGE HERE!

Getting word that 3 officers were shot in Baton Rouge from an EXTREMELY credible source.

FUCK!

I thought this shit was over after the President met with the leadership of Black Lives Matters.

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

The drama continues.  More to come I'm sure.

UPDATED!

1.  This was a pure ambush.  The gunmen approached the police wearing all black and shot the police at almost point blank range according to KTLA-5.

2.  Now we're hearing 3 dead officers and two assailants.

3.  Watching the video of the incident I think I'm hearing automatic weapons fire....not rapid semi-automatic fire, but full on automatic weapons fire.

4.  We're now hearing that 7 officers have been shot and 2 have been confirmed killed.

5.  Now confirmed that 4 officers have been killed.

What has dulled the survival instinct of modern man?

We're still talking about the failed coup attempt in Turkey and one subject has come up.  Why did they simply surrender to the mob?  We don't live in that society and we know how that would turn out.  Hell we've seen "mob" justice in the US and its not pretty here either.

So while many are giving these conscript soldiers the benefit of the doubt, I have to wonder.  What has dulled the survival instinct of modern man?

I stated that once they were put into a terrible situation by their Commanders it was up to them to survive.

Shooting into the crowd sound distasteful?  To break contact and escape and evade?  You bet your ass!  Strip off uniform and run around in your briefs....blend in with the crowd and then make it home and act like nothing happened?  Maybe, but I'd recommend you lay low, turn into a petty criminal hope to be forgotten about.

Regardless of your choice you still stand a better chance than turning yourself over to a mob.

The bigger point is important though.  I'm seeing people drawn to large gatherings like moths to a flame.  In this day and age people still haven't globed onto the idea that crowds are danger.  We still see people crossing fast moving water in small vehicles.  Individuals that need to be told to take care of their health the list goes on.

Why have basic survival instincts become so uncommon in modern man.

Michael Page (Bellator) needs to move to the UFC.

Did you hear that knee strike to the face?  Good God that had to hurt!  He's getting plenty of hype in Bellator but won't be respected till he proves himself in the UFC.  I hope Dana can sign the guy.  Not sure what weight class he fights in though.  He looks about the same size as Nate Diaz (which would be a fantastic fight...especially after he crushes McGregor in UFC 202).
