Hindutva paramilitary group in India...

Thanks to "Hody.Modi" for the link.

Not sure what I'm seeing here.  Are these Nazis as claimed, Ultra Nationalist or both?

One thing I do know.  Nativism will rise unless nations get a check on unfettered immigration.  Full stop.

That's undebatable.

Why?

Its all about resources and "different".  It's a terrible thing to contemplate but it applies.  Unless those that immigrate CHOOSE to assimilate then there will be a natural tension between those that have been there and those that are arriving.

We've seen those tensions between those that are of the same ethnicity (various nationalities that have arrived in the UK are a great example) so if you add different races and/or religions to the mix then that will exacerbate the problem.

Don't get it twisted.

I'm not saying its right (definitely not saying that) but I am saying that its real.  Policy makers really need to do a better job of getting public buy in or they're setting the stage for social tension that can easily be avoided with a better scheme of assimilation....Americanization of those that arrive if you will.

As far as the video above?  I'm curious but India will solve it how India solves it.

Russian close quarters pistol fighting...useful or just plain crazy?

Note.  Don't know if this is real or not.  I've never seen anything like this before.  One thing is certain.  This is situation specific BIG TIME.  I've had the pleasure(?) of having to read over quite a few shooting incidents lately and I can't remember even ONE OF THEM that was approaching the scenario he's practicing here.  I'm leaning toward crazy but want to know what you guys think...especially the folks that have been there and done that.

Turkey was about to carry out airstrikes in Libya?

This is interesting.  I know Turkish troops are soon to be deployed  to the latest simmering pile of camel dung in the ME/NA, but this is a bit of a surprise.

They couldn't get fly over permission?  Haven't been following this closely but I hazard a guess that things between Turkey and Egypt (the feud between the Turks and the Greeks is legend) aren't quite good.

Turkey wants to be the leader of the Muslim world.  Egypt once had that title. Are they actually arguing over leadership?  Is there that much blood in the water for the Saudis that people are seeking to dethrone them during this time of internal strife?

But to the bigger issue.  Let's run down the fights going on in the Middle East/North Africa.

US vs Syria, Saudi Arabia vs Yemen, Israel vs Palestine, US/Israel vs Iran, Syria/Russia/Iran vs US (won't even touch the groups we're supporting cause I don't want to open that can of worms), Syria/Russia/Iran vs Turkey (that's trying to carve out a portion of that nation for itself), Iran vs Kurds (they consider them terrorists)...the list goes on and this is far from complete.

NOW CAN WE CALL THIS A REGIONAL WAR?

We talked about this one before.  It's carrying missiles that are sized right between the 2.75 and 5in rockets.  It's carrying a total of 20 of these bad boys.  If these are precision weapons then JUST MAYBE its something that the AH-1Z should be looking to add to it's arsenal.

Those wings are pretty funky looking though.  Could an AH-1Z carry as many? Eyeballing it I can't be sure.  Could using these to make the UH-1Y into a surrogate gunship work?  Depending on how they're attached could this be the system that the MV-22 is searching for?

Hey ya'll!

Thanks for all the warm wishes on Christmas.  It really means alot and I appreciate it.  I'm on the grind (you'd be surprised how stupid/idiotic/insane people act on Christmas....take it from me...peace on earth isn't how alot of people celebrate the day!) so posting will be light today and tomorrow.

Back at it in a big way Saturday.

A troll insists we have supremacy over China...this is why I am worried...

Yesterday I posted a story about China's new 10,000 ton Destroyer (at that size it should be listed as a cruiser or in the modern era maybe even a pocket battleship) gaining land attack missiles.

My troll went on to say that I was defeatist and that we naturally had supremacy over the Chinese, that they were simply trying to duplicate what we had many years ago and that I was simply feeding into a myth.

That's why I posted the above video.

China is an entirely different type of threat.  I don't think we've faced anything like it in our nation's history.

Why?

It's a mix of political, economic, business, trade and culture.

In short, China will do whatever is necessary to win.  They will steal our tech even if it means endangering trade with one of their largest customers.  It will copy our vehicles/ships/aircraft and put a Chinese spin on them without shame.  They will examine every piece of information available on the net, and seek vulnerabilities.

And probably most importantly they have a united society (to a greater degree than our own) focused on its rise.

But if you don't believe me check out the video.  Drink it in.  Yeah its from 2014 but do you think things have changed for the better since then?

I rest my case Harry.  Back to you bro.

China's 10,000 ton destroyer now sports Long Range Land Attack Missiles....

Click the tweet to read more.

But this was/is my worry.  How do you defeat cruise missiles?  Well the last time we saw an armada faced with a missile threat they did indeed disperse their fleet (Brits versus the anemic Argentine Naval Air Fleet).

The result?  Limited success and a victory by the skin on their teeth.  They lost picket ships, a couple of cargo carriers (along with valuable aircraft dispersed onboard them so that they could get more in theater) and the loss of an island that was retaken with great courage on the part of Paras and Royal Marines.

What are we facing today?

Pretty much the same except that our dispersed forces will be pummeled by Chinese missiles.  How do you protect a widely dispersed fleet?  What about units on the ground?

How do you protect individual ships/units from being identified and pummeled into oblivion?

I don't know.  I know the brains are working this but until we get some answers this will continue to be a concern.
