Did the Russians just lose a bird?

Americans are just freakin contrary...

My fellow Americans.  Some of you are just freaking contrary.

The idea of being responsible to your country has all but disappeared but with a pandemic raging the world, your country just asks you to do one thing.

Stay the fuck home.

So what do some of you brainiacs do instead?  You act like this is go time.

To be a responsible adult for 15 days is too hard.  To be a responsible adult all that's being asked is that you stay the fuck home.

But that's too hard.

Simply amazing.

The Army is gonna pick the USMC clean of Tankers....we're suppose to steal from them, not vice versa!

I follow Red Knight 6 and I can almost see him rubbing his hands together, licking his lips and having a maniacal laugh at the thought of adding a few hundred experienced USMC tankers and mechanics to the US Army Tank Brigades.

The funny thing?

Heard rumblings about Aussies looking to poach a few good men to head down under.

It's probably passe' now but tradition (I guess it was a tradition) says that we pick the Army clean (especially when they just leave that juicy gear laying about), not the other way around!

The Leopard MBT can move!

Wonder what was going on to have them moving that fast down city streets?

CHECK IN! How is the Coronavirus outbreak in your area?

Hey Guys.

I'm just curious as hell.  How is the Coronavirus in your neck of the woods?  Anyone else live in an area where there is a stay at home order?  If you do is there any indication of how long it will last?

Comparing K9 and Ceasar Shoot and Scoot capacity...and why the Archer is the best truck based system in the world...

The Nexter Caesar truck mounted howitzer has many fans.  They shout about its relatively small size (for a truck with a big gun!), its lightness and its mobility (especially along roads).

What they ignore is the slow rate of fire.  In high intensity combat against a technologically capable foe, being able to shoot and scoot will be important.

Now check out the vid below.

Love it or hate it but you can't deny one simple truth.  The Archer is best for not only sustained fire in low intensity combat but is the best truck based howitzer for high tech warfare too.

Note.  I said truck based howitzer, not best howitzer.

Wait! The USMC is cutting F-35 numbers. Does that mean the F-35C is about to get canned?

I posted a snippet from an article by Flight Global about the USMC cutting the number of F-35's it's buying.
“The Marine Corps will reduce the Primary Aircraft Authorized per squadron of F-35B and C aircraft from 16 to 10,” says the USMC.
The Marine Corps had planned to buy a total of 420 F-35s (353 F-35Bs and 67 F35Cs) by 2031. The service did not respond to request for details on how much its programme of record would be cut, but Cancian says the reduction numbers can be inferred.

“This would imply buying about 120 to 130 aircraft fewer,” he says.
120 to 130 fewer aircraft?

I've advocated for the USMC to at least cut the F-35C from the order books.  With Berger going all in on the China fight does it make sense for the Corps to embrace the sea battle from the shore by buying many more anti-ship missiles (we'll talk about the rebirth of the Coastal Defense Battalions soon) while at the same time still buying the C version?

I don't think it does.

If they continue with the C buy then that means that the F-35B will take the full brunt of the hit.

I just can't see that happening.

So if its a mixed cut that means the F-35C is gone along with about 60 F-35Bs.

Yeah.

What's going unsaid is that the Marine Corps is about to give up its carrier mission.

PS.  Forgot to say it.  THE DEATH SPIRAL IS HERE!!! LOL!!!

Russian Aid Convoy making its way thru the streets of Italy..

Don't we have a base or two in this country?

Don't we have a Special Purpose MAGTF in this country...or at least near by?

So why are we letting the Russians get this MAJOR propaganda image in front of the world?

They're farther away, have a smaller logistics capability and are supposedly not as close to our friend as we are.

Yet we're nowhere to be seen.

I'm not mad just a bit frustrated.  We have forces in the region but aren't prioritizing them to this effort.  Sending cash is cool.  Money makes stuff happen.  But you can't deny the visuals here.

If the entire Western World is at war with a virus (and I'm thinking we are), then we should pivot military assets to help in that fight.  Hell all we need to do is activate Motor T along with Navy Medicine and we could match this effort and surpass it easily.

Hell just send a Marine Corps Motor T Company with their MTVRs and fly the flag so people in Spain, Italy, Greece etc...see that we're standing ready to help...with our money and our people.

USMC cutting the number of F-35s...

via FlightGlobal.
The Lockheed Martin F-35B/C would suffer its first programme of record reduction in its history.

USS America (LHA 6) conducts flight operations....pics by Seaman Jonathan Berlier

Note.  These are flight operations aboard the USS America but it might as well be called "The WING HAS WON" photo thread.  Isn't it ironic?  At one time the USMC thought that the Marine Air Wing needed an advocate.  Fast forward to our time and its clear that it wasn't the Wing that needed an advocate but instead the Ground Combat Team.

Even more frustrating?  Yeah.  I advocated for the Marine Corps (and the entire govt) to focus on the threat that is China.  What I DID NOT want to see is our Marine Corps being tailor made FOR ONLY the fight against China.

My fear?  What happens when we fight an advanced force (probably hybrid terrorists) that we aren't tailor made to deal with?  Do you know the last time the US military tried to tailor itself for a particular fight?  I do.  It was when we saw wholesale changes across our force because many predicted the next battlefield would be nuclear.  What did we find ourselves involved in instead?

Vietnam.

Sen Paul tests positive for Coronavirus. Nightmare scenario? Congress is unable to meet or pass legislation because of the virus...in essence a decapitation caused by illness...

via Vox
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus, his office announced Sunday afternoon, bringing the pandemic into Congress’s upper chamber for the first time.

Paul’s office said he had not been showing any symptoms, but was tested because of extensive travel and contact with people at events in the course of his work. The senator will be self-quarantining now that he has received a positive diagnosis.
If they do this right then they'll do contact tracing and probably a huge part of the Senate will have to self quarantine.

The Senate will have to go home to keep from spreading the disease and we're faced with the decapitation of a portion of our govt by disease.

China could not have planned this shit better!

Louisiana Gov issues stay at home order...hitting close to home and the numbers are a bit disturbing...

First the Gov hits us with this stay at home order.  Kinda expected it but not this soon.  Luckily the folks around here have told me that it was coming (heard that today) and that National Guard has already deployed to several locations throughout the state.

Ok.  So what caused this?  We're finally getting a clue.  In my state we're looking at a potential Italy type situation because the numbers are coming on exponentially.

They put out these two graphs...

Yeah.

Its gonna get a bit sporting around here.  That graph is if not disturbing then at least unsettling.

My biggest gripe?

The metropolitan areas are wagging the entire state.  Where is the outbreak most troubling.

New Orleans.

Where is the biggest problem?

New Orleans.

Who will be screaming the most for aid in this whole drama?

New Orleans.

The rest of the state will muddle thru and make it.  New Orleans will be crying like a spoiled bitch at her 13th birthday.

Preppers are vindicated and NY City residents are clueless...

Thanks to UtahBob62 for the link!

Readers that have been with me for awhile know that I'm a low level prepper. When this thing rolled in we topped up our supplies and watched while people were running to grab toilet paper.

What did folks in NY City do?

It's just sad.

Almost heartbreaking sad.

They ain't ready.  Check out the story here.  I'd pop out certain segments but its just the blind thinking they're getting ready but still lost in the woods.

TLDR?  New York is about to get gut punched and the citizens will be wailing on TV begging for help soon.
